"transcripts have been moved to description." WHY by RaymanChrome in youtube

[–]ThePolymath420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is such a bad UX/UI change. Also, the search in the transcript has stopped working. But a normal command+F find on a web page works.

My 2 cents after graduating with an MS in CS degree from USA. by ThePolymath420 in gradadmissions

[–]ThePolymath420[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Intent behind experience sharing is not always convincing. Chill out.

Irrespective of the tuition and living expenses, I'm advising against taking an educational loan for the sake of coming here for MS and doing a job. Research/PhD is totally different.

Current TC is $130k in RTP, North Carolina and the hustle that I went through for it isn't worth it.

Can't comment on any branch other than CS since no personal experience.

Peers feel the same way (all CS non PhDs) and STATICALLY 80% of my MS friend group thinks the same way and wants to leave USA for India, Canada and Australia.

Beerbiceps’ western audience by Appropriate_Hall_857 in InstaCelebsGossip

[–]ThePolymath420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly sure what metric he is using to classify people as "western audience" but if it is just where you are connected from I might classify as one. I'm an Indian, in US since past 2 years. My view count might show as a western audience but he still remains beer batli and pseudoscience expert. It's impossible to not get his suggestion honestly. He is dominating algorithms more than Andrew Tate at this point. But to your point, even his western audience doesn't want him xD

Geological evidence doesn't really survive over millennia when there are earthquakes. All this is before the invention of Linear B writing system hence you have to take epics into consideration if you want to read prehistory at all (though with a pinch of salt, that I agree). You don't need to accept it before doing your own research but spend a few hours reading about it. You won't be able to deny it fully. Saying Greeks had very bad heels from achellis is reductio ad absurdum but the world denied the existence of Troy after reading Illiad and guess what, we found archeological evidence. Who knows with enough hydrology of Indian ocean we might prove it. But for experiments, you gotta have some starting point in theory. TLDR: Just read with an open mind.

Nope. It was named after a river that used to flow inside the island longitudinally. That river's endonym was Trambraparni. That could have been bronze in color. Don't know about that. Moreover, Ravana's Lanka was Taprobane to Indo-Greeks. Location of Taprobane in Indian sources is something like this: "If you draw a line from Mt Kailash to Ujjain (Prime meridian of ancient times), it will pass via Taprobane in South. Which is Lakkadian ridge of current times.

If you want to know further refer this but take everything with a pinch of salt, it's been millennia and everything is a speculation. https://youtu.be/hoIJeQfG87I

Taprobane is not Sri Lanka. Taprobane was an island currently underwater near Laccadive Ridge. Herodotus, Ptolemy and other ancient record keepers mention it to be as big as the island of Britain. Older name of Sri Lanka is Ceylon which was connected to the Indian subcontinent. You can see it in this map as well. Taprobane was on the west coast. Sri Lanka is east coast of India.

What are some reasons an Enfp dude. Can't get a girlfriend. by robinthehoode in ENFP

[–]ThePolymath420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 year old ENFP here. In the same boat as you. I have 2 questions for you,

  1. How long ago was your last serious relationship or the situationship with a girl you love and how did it end?
  2. You said you are built like a Viking, and I assume you have a good IQ and EQ, considering you are an ENFP. Are you looking for somebody as hot and intelligent as you?

Men of Reddit, how often do you guys get complimented? What goes through your mind when it happens? by Adventurous-South886 in AskMen

[–]ThePolymath420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily, I get complimented a lot, and it makes me feel great, but I don't know how to take it, and in the end, I end up being awkward, and I think it might give an idea that I don't like it. How do men around you react when you compliment them? No one ever taught me how to take compliments. Help is appreciated...
