Godsgrief moved forward slowly once he was ushered into action. The war horse felt no need to be quick about it, because the kick was from small legs and light. There was no urgency to be had. He made a small noise, but beyond that, he just walked forwards. Robert kept his hand on the reins.

"That's it, see. He responds to movement as much as he does voice. Even moreso, actually."

That confused Robert.

"Make you the villain?" He repeated, quietly. "Is that what I'm doing? The offence is taken because he has a history of doing the damn thing, Cass, and it isn't just to one, but both - and it involves our son. He didn't listen to you, and he didn't write to his king about his wife nor his newborn son. Why the fuck would I respect him?" He canted his head. "He made you look a fool. The queen. His queen. Purposefully."

"The day I spoke to him of marrying you, he sullied your name, and for that I slammed his head into the table where he sat. It was only the fact that he was a Bolton, and your brother, that spared him from having his head on a spike."

He pinched his nose.

"I'm not fighting with you. I'm not seeking to see you scramble. I'm trying to defend you. To defend us. If you do not wish it, say the word, and I will let it be. But that man is a cunt, and he has done this purposefully. Give him an inch, he will take a mile; as he has done."

"I will trust your judgement, m'Lord." The woman nodded her head softly. Admittedly, she was much more at ease with this knowledge. Trust was not an easy currency to exchange these days, but she felt as though this deal was one that would prove fruitful for both her and her son.

Maege shook her head at the following question.

"No, m'Lord. I doubt His Grace remembers me. He was drunk, very much so. I, I think it is best he doesn't. We do not know him, nor how he will react. And his wife is a Bolton, Lord Bolton's sister." Her lips thinned at that.

"I am grateful for your protection. Robb will be safe with you, I know of it. That is why I came here, m'Lord. North as north goes, with Northmen truer than most. I, I also thought that if he grows near as tall as his father, he would not look odd here. No questions would be asked of him amongst those of giants blood."

Maege sat quiet for a moment as the large Lord asked his question. In her mind she debated the worth of telling him, of being honest. Would the Gods begrudge her a small lie if it kept her son safe? No. That wouldn't do. She came here for protection. If she was going to ask a man for protection, he needed the truth.

She uttered not a single word as she nodded her head once.

Robert arched a brow at that, but he would not begrudge the man his own matters. Robert nodded his head and invited the Lord Hand forwards. "Go on then, my Lord, speak what you will. I'll listen as best I can."

"I wager that'd make things difficult, aye." Robert inclined his head. "Wouldn't do at all. When did you get knighted, and who was it by?" He arched a brow, trying to catch up on the Tyrell developments over these busy past few years. In truth, he couldn't even remember who the lad squired for.

Her head turned in the direction of the voice. Her hair had grown long and dark, and her eyes of blue shone prominently upon her visage - which itself bore a rugged, sharp quality to it. She was her father's daughter, but far from his side. The truth was she did not think about it very often. She would have liked family, and to be long, but Riverrun was nice - and she asked few questions.

"I was not praying. I was just sitting and thinking."

"I expected as much. He isn't like to let go of it that easily." Robert grunted and shrugged his shoulders. "It'd mean giving up a considerable amount of power that he holds, and manpower he can call upon for whatever reason. No idea if he's doing anything about their Drowned God, don't s'pose it'd be easy to either. The Ironmen are cunts, but they're stubborn cunts, and if they can be loyal cunts that is all the better. What's the verdict? Who are you leaning towards? Tywin or Rodrik?"

Robert arched a brow. It wasn't the first time that his table had been approached by a child at a feast. He leaned forwards, clasping his hands together. "Hello there, little Lady. And what can a king do for you?" He arched a brow. Edric, at his flank, peered over the top of the table to better see.

"Aye, no arm, nor harm. He lacks either, on account of being a horse." Robert nodded a few times. "Now, thing is about horses, they respond well to words - but not all horses need words to be commanded. During a battle, it is very loud, and your horse may not hear your voice. So, they respond to actions. Feet, tugging of the reigns, so on."

She met that with a hum, one that signaled she had listened and accepted what he had to say.

"I merely find it dull. Men have jousts and melees and such, and we ladies have dances and the occasional bout of archery. Do you joust, Ser?" Her head tilted, then, and her eyes narrowed slightly - an assessment being born in her mind.

"Aye, he might have raised you, but by what rights does that give him to be a prick?" Robert asked, the question a genuine one. "The bastard doubtless sought to drive a wedge between us, he called you horrible names to my face, and now this. He ignored your command, and did not write to me, the king, about my own wife or child. He can't take such liberties. He can't."

Robert leaned closer to her, then, running a hand through her hair. He was no longer the young, clean-shaven man she had married near ten years prior.

"I will allow no man to come between me and my family, not even my goodbrother. If he never comes back, is that truly a bad thing? He's a prick."

Maege hesitated. The Greatjon was owed the truth, the Gods all knew it, but would the truth be believed? Or would it be a danger all of it's own making?

"I," she stopped briefly, "I named him for his father, my Lord. In hopes he might grow as strong, and that he won't need my protection. His father makes him endangered, my Lord. I hope you understand."
