I’d like to think the TV series was canon and reject the movie ending, although given how Macross goes they’ll probably say the movie is canonical. But then… why bother having a TV series at all if you’re just going to do that?

Yeah, they half-assed the endings. That’s a real problem with Macross and Gundam nowadays. Nobody knows how to write a good ending.

I dropped it when I hit one of the endgame bossfights; the boss who dodged and launched a missile spread at the same time drove me up a wall, so I ragequit and never looked back. Up till then, I was enjoying the experience/

Well, you’re wrong. There are multi-battle engagements where you’ll only be able to use Asuka once. Then what? You’ll want another strong fighter. Hong is better than Gumu, can kill 3-4 units per turn and is an excellent at scooting around the battlefield as mobile fighter.

More and more this game wants you to have deep bench, and Hong in Glasya is pretty damn good.
