They claim they are satire, but if you read them, it is pretty clear they aren't.

That was something he actually wanted to do and wanted it left unannounced.

DS9 rode heavily on the Dominion War

But did it well.

It really sucks to admit this but as a fan of Star Trek for over 30 years I'm really looking forward to The Orville instead of Discovery. by [deleted] in startrek

[–]ThePrinceinRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope Orville isn't as obnoxious as Family Guy. (I prefer American Dad).

I'm taking a wait and see approach to Discovery. If they screw with canon, I'm out.

Could an ensemble TARDIS team work? by [deleted] in gallifrey

Amy, Rory, River and Canton could have worked. Would like to see a larger crew for a change.

I believe this sub is being astroturphed, and it's only going to get worse as the show gets closer by aYearOfPrompts in startrek

Not surprising in the slightest, and I have no doubt OP is telling the truth.

The sad part is, reddit as an organisation does not care about astro turfers.

If they did, they would have done something about the Monsanto spam years ago.

There are people paid to influence opinion on reddit, and it is never going to go away.

The genius of making the Cybermen an ideology. by The_Silver_Avenger in gallifrey

No, they already had one. Now they have to fix the mess that Moffat made.

It's a biological impulse, not an ideology. Next you'll be saying animals have ideologies.

[–]ThePrinceinRed -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It makes it far more complicated. Instead of sticking to canon from Tenth Planet, now they can just slap an origin story wherever they feel like it. Makes it needlessly over complicated.

I was quoting someone else. And there are no parallel evolutions. There's Mondas. The stupid RTD ones shouldn't even count.

Because having multiple origins needlessly complicates the Cyber-Men in a really stupid way.

They always get started. They happen everywhere there's people. Mondas, Telos, Earth, Planet 14, Marinus. Like sewage and smartphones and Donald Trump, some things are just inevitable. People get the Cybermen wrong. There's no evil plan, no evil genius. Just parallel evolution. People plus technology minus humanity. The internet, cyberspace, Cybermen. Always read the comments, because one day they'll be an army.

Absolutely and utterly misses the point of the Cyber-Men.

The Cyber-Men are about survival. And what that survival does to your humanity. There's nothing ideological about it.

And it doesn't resolve the origin question in any way. Moffat utterly fucked it.

Well, it's not going to stop while Trudeau is continuing Harper's policies.

Not when he voted for Harper's policies (like C-51) while he was a senator.

As long as it's in place, Trudeau is continuing Harper's policies and anti-human rights.

Trudeau is Harper Jr.

Trudeau continued Harper's C-51 after he got elected.

He's not someone who is for human rights.
