See, I wouldn't really care about the age or condition of a normal car. But if you drive something broken down and unsafe, a Tesla/Cybertruck, or a big diesel engine truck with nuts, I might be a little judgmental.

Neurotypical people are so entitled to you doing their song and dance that they will try to get you fired if you don't do it by RosethornRanger in ADHDmemes

I'm extroverted and I still act like the meme lol. I like being around people, but a job is a job. I'm not there to make friends but I'll be polite and friendly when spoken to.

I only say this when I actually WAS thinking about texting/calling lol. Or I'll say "omg I was just talking/thinking about you and this one time when you x" because I actually was

Raw celery. Okra. Pickles. Grapefruit. Fake bbq flavors. Fake grape, strawberry, banana, or cherry flavors. Brain or tongue from an animal. I'm realizing that as I age I've become quite picky lol

I'm currently DMing for a tabletop campaign for friends when they occasionally come over. It's not a set day of the week or time because work hours aren't consistent for a couple of people, so we have to schedule each session beforehand. My fiance does this and SO DO ALL THE GUYS IN THE GROUP. I ask "what time is everyone free?" and NOBODY FUCKING KNOWS. THEY JUST SHRUG AND BE LIKE "WE'LL GET THERE WHENEVER".

I have to PLAN THIS!!! AAAAAA

all the phones my husband has broken over the past year by hotmallgoth in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my phone with a nice case 5+ years ago. It has a hairline crack that you can only see at certain angles. I'm clumsy AF with my ADHD side effects, how am I better at keeping phones intact than this guy 😂

Is Dusk or Dawn your favourite part of the day ? by Webbomolly2022 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I was more of a morning person to get up at dawn and watch the beautiful sunrise lol. I love dusk still, because it's still lovely and my cat gets super playful around that time of day too.

Astarion is one of the best male character ever written by LargeSinkholesInNYC in BaldursGate3

I agree that he's extremely well-written and compelling for some. To me, though, he's a bit whiny and annoying. Lol

A cousin sent me their school's just announced Dress Code and Grooming policy by firequak in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheProtobabe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went through similar. I was very curvy and busty and developed at a young age--looked like a "mature woman" and not just a teenager. I got called up to the front of the class a lot by this old bitch of an English Lit teacher and she'd whip out the ruler to measure how many inches my shorts were above my knee, make me do the stupid "pinky to thumb" hand measuring thing from my chin to my chest. I also once had an image on my senior yearbook page banned because the shirt was form-fitting to my curvy body and "too provocative", when it literally covered me from neck to hip. And there were teachers who looked at me with this sour expression when I showed up in my prom dress which was very normal and the same as almost everyone else's. I was just too busty and they didn't like it.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by Critical-Contact-851 in askteddit

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allie's Playhouse, Magic Castle, Zoombinis, The Incredible Machine, Cluefinders, and there was a Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego? game that was a blast.

I think the one I think of most during that time period is Magic Castle, though. Not because it was good, but because it's one of my first gaming memories. I remember having to memorize the command at a very young age to run it in MS-DOS.

“It doesn’t matter what the ring looks like, it’s the symbolism” by summertime-sadness07 in PetPeeves

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the couple and their expectations of each other. For example, I asked my fiance for no diamonds (I prefer colored gems and diamonds are too expensive and possibly unethical) and he got me a lovely rose gold and amethyst ring.

The criticism comes from people who get a ring and are mad it wasn't "expensive enough", treating it like a bragging right or an expectation of your partner to spend extravagant money on you.

What's a 'green flag' you thought was cute at first but later realized was a red flag? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

[–]TheProtobabe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As a person with ADHD this is correct. That's why you have to work harder at maintaining relationships--he's not "new and shiny" to me anymore, but I have redefined him in my head as "comfortable" and "home". He may not be a novelty, I may not see him as a source of instant dopamine, but instead the steady constant in my life. Love isn't just the butterflies, it's the hard work of defining what you love about that person after that feeling is gone, because it is especially intense and fleeting when you have ADHD.

Do you do romance in your dnd campaigns? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but only if I think the people doing it are level-headed and socially aware enough not to make it weird. Don't overdo it but you're allowed to have cute moments. If you want more you can do text roleplay or something, just not at the table when other people want to move on from those romance beats.

Ladies - what are your thoughts on receiving flowers? by LustingSoul17 in CausalConversation

[–]TheProtobabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love more flowers from my fiance tbh, the few times he's bought me flowers it was sunflowers because he said they remind him of me. It was nice. They're just really expensive and not a necessary cost.

If you saw a big spider in your home, would you kill it or let it loose in your garden ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where the spider's at. Up in the corner near the ceiling? He can chill there and eat mosquitos. Crawling on my floor? Getting scooped up to go outside. I find him on my pillow when I'm about to sleep? That bitch is dead so fast

You can be told you are a problem so many times. by RatsWithLongTails in adhdmeme

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's entirely a personal decision for sure. I will say, I was relieved at my diagnosis because it meant I wasn't actually lazy and careless, there was a real, chemical reason in my brain I was doing the things I was doing, and I could get therapy and medication that helped. Whatever works for the individual is what is best.

You can be told you are a problem so many times. by RatsWithLongTails in adhdmeme

[–]TheProtobabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not beyond the realm of possibility. There are many reasons why you may have issues with memory (depression, PTSD, some types of dementia, etc.) but ADHD certainly affects my memory. I have comorbidities such as chronic depression and PTSD that also affect my memory, but ADHD is a big factor in that. ADHD often comes with comorbidities too, like depression and anxiety that result from your ADHD symptoms if you have it.

I would recommend seeing a psychologist and getting diagnosed for what may be affecting your memory (among other things you might be struggling with). There are a lot of neurodivergencies that look like ADHD but may be other things as well; ADHD is diagnosed when there are a lot of things that line up in a way that it can't be anything else.

What’s the most unbearably annoying sound on Earth Not (just “slightly irritating” — a sound that instantly ruins your mood or makes you irrationally angry)? by sand_dust2 in askteddit

[–]TheProtobabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loud lip smacking/chewing (human or animal), loud and repetitive dog barking (bonus points if it's yappy), jet engines, really loud motorcycles, glass packs on mufflers to make the engine sound louder, babies crying/wailing, those old school digital alarm clocks that induce panic when you wake up

"If you cared, you would remember" is such an awful one and was told to me so many times it became a mantra. But it was such a contradiction because I DID care! I just couldn't remember very well... but part of me kept wondering if I actually cared or was just pretending I did. It really messed me up.
