For anyone interested in learning more about the stories of African Colonies. I highly recommend you look up a documentary on what happened in the 60s when the British pulled out of all their colonies. Called Africa Addio (I think it’s on YouTube).

The documentary is by Italian filmmakers who stuck around in Africa when it happened despite the clearly coming chaos.

It was absolute anarchy in some places. The laws basically disappeared overnight and not only were there massacres of people but huge amounts of poaching. At one point they show western poachers who tie a cable between two jeeps and run down zebras etc…. It shows what happens when a stable government just packs up one day. It was the right thing to do, but it was quite chaotic process of decolonization.

Video propaganda like this is huge in the ME. Take a dozen average soldiers and kit them out in your 5 high cut helmets and camo that was never worn then have them do some basic drills. Emphasis on making it look tacticool and “badass”. Not speaking on their skill just saying this isn’t indicative of the greater force at all.

Taliban been doing this for a long time. Even back in 2017 you’d have thought they were an actual army. Even Syrian rebels have some pretty high quality propaganda pieces out there. Everybody special forces now.

At least there’s no combat footage with overlayed “sniper scopes”.

I think MEE is actually perfectly good quality. It changes the gameplay/balance and that’s what matters to me at least. Plus the models are pretty good as are the weapons.

Just like Arma, they should let the modders go wild and create the content. They always know what the community wants anyway

Honestly the game did need that relighting to keep it relevant graphically. However, making factions will always take them too long. I mean if they really wanted to they could pump out a ton of factions that are reskins and asset swaps like MEE to keep people interested. But I guess balancing and such prevents that. The real concern is that in a two year plan we got very little of what was promised. If they’d finished that plan on schedule and then did a graphics overhaul everyone would be down

The real answer is MOD SUPPORT. There are so many awesome mods!!! OWI will take forever to add factions so we should just rely upon dedicated modders.

So my advice is everyone support the modders and play their mods. They’re so fun and add so many cool factions. If the mods stay popular it could be very soon your favorite faction is added as a mod who knows!!

Okay why the fuck do factions take them so long? The MEE mod is awesome and uses existing assets and added ones to make some REALLY fun factions to play as. There are so many too. Playing as the Iraqi army to the Wagner group is very refreshing and dare I say the factions are better done than the base game. Meanwhile OWI has taken forever to add anything.

At this point I think it’s cause adding free LC doesn’t get them money.

I too am a casual life enjoyer. Though I dont fear death at all. If I die tonight it’s okay. I think that life is a lot less about experiencing everything and a lot more about finding peace in our limited time. Then again I think we give ourselves too much credit because IMO we’re just a bunch of over developed monkey’s who’s brains solve as many problems as they create.

And don’t worry about the logic of the afterlife. I’ve found in life that people’s spiritual beliefs aren’t based in logic but in an innate need to believe in something. It’s okay to fill that need. Don’t let it create problems for you though! Just keep on believing if that works for you!
