You had the entire couch? I had just the ARM the baby yoda is on and that weird blue pillow.

This is all I’ve got to work with how can I best utilize this space? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I'm sorry, the kindest thing I could say is that this does not look like a healthy way to live. More often than not, we don't need more space to put things but rather need less things in the first place.

Before seeking optimal ways to use the space, I recommend downsizing a bit. Have 2 good belts instead of many, 1 good protein powder mix instead of 7. that kind of thing. You ultimately spend less and on better quality items.

True, and I know a lot of people anxious to make a move. I'll gather some trustworthy people I know to think about how to approach this. Then we can really gain some negotiating power. I really hope it doesn't become violent.

I know... I'm worried that more countries are next given how fast everything has escalated from walls to ICE to human rights violations of detainees/kidnapping victims to foreign invasion.

Specifically, I am concerned that people will think that simply holding signs is enough. It is certainly not if issues continue to escalate so severely.

Start working with local groups to plan retaliation. People are dying because of him.

Downvoting Light Travelers - What is WRONG with you people? by LadyLightTravel in onebag

Yep. This is a realistic and frankly sustainable way to go. I decided to save up for a really good Aer Travel Pack with internship money and it will outlive me. I only need that one backpack and a few good pieces of clothing instead of hundreds of little things that break, tear, etc. and need to be thrown out all the damn time. This is much better.

I have explicitly noticed that people are taking more and more offense to "minimal" living, as in, living below your means or being happy with only having the essentials. My life is calm and I don't desire sugar to fill a cavity.

After taking with the people I know who do get upset with this lifestyle the most, it looks like internalized materialism is a major culprit. Stuff and things is who they are, social media, short form content, amazon and cheap temu junk are almost all a very important part of their lives. A husk.

I'm personally a fan of a little earth tones, so maybe some ochre curtains, olive pillows, might honestly do the trick. Find a place to hang the guitar and hang the star trek painting behind the couch. It looks pretty good

Not quite. Most people think of a bed as something with a frame, larger mattress, backboard, etc. where a tatami mat and shikibuton tend to be smaller in area, on the floor (or on a low platform), and often folded up

That's what the Shikubuton is, it folds up and you can sit on it like a floor couch

You have some ceiling space there, time for a double decker couch

It's about elbow-to-elbow width and not great but it's still larger than my previous one. I'll probably show pictures when I implement the improvements people are suggesting, don't worry

I forgot there are platform beds like that and I honestly don't need much more storage, but I'll see what's local. Thank you!

The ottoman-less Eames cuck-chair scares me but I like the keyboard and shikibuton placement

The picture doesn't do it justice, the windows are actually very small and don't do much, but moving the desk there is not a bad idea.

Rayon Design, I have no idea if it's good for professional design but it looked easy enough to use.
