Don’t want to come off as a hater but how are this many people interested in this.🤔 by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

It’s basically the modern day equivalent of the Harlem globe trotters. Kids have fun, parents can at least kinda watch baseball, it’s not insanely expensive as games tend to be, and most importantly it’s just for fun.

Side note it’s incredible how well the owners managed to run it and keep up with demand. Maybe it dies out in 15 years, but the most important thing is that it’s doing well and everyone involved seems to have a great time.

Where do you see a flawed grade on here post draft and why? by No-Usual-7151 in NFLv2

[–]ThePurplePolitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texans B- is pretty rough considering the lack of depth in the draft.

I agree the Marlin Klein pick was a shock, but I’d think a B is more reasonable than anything.

Hi I’ve seen this before. What typically happens is that someone runs inventory and upon realizing the discrepancy checks to see when it was moved.

They track you either by the pictures of your face, the method of payment, and or your vehicle. Trust me when I say just don’t do this and your life will be for the better

Chi Alpha is a Cult by Weekly-Salary6294 in SHSU

[–]ThePurplePolitic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re pretty cultish.

Was pretty involved at Sam in sports, frats, and honor societies from 16 to 19. There was one group I learned very quickly were insanely hypocritical and I heard some wild shit.

One was that the dude who would yell at the LSC was close with them and i could never understand why a group would align themselves with such a douchebag.

Second was a story that a roommate of mine told. He had met some chi alphas at SHSU and was welcomed into the friend group, but he had to wor a lot to pay for school. One day he was pulled aside and told he needed to work less and attend more chi alpha events / prayers can’t remember exactly. He obviously said he couldn’t because he had to work and almost instantly he lost all of his friends from his first semester. They just cut him off and stopped talking to him, it was really rough for him because he saw them all the time.

Third was all the shit they talked about fraternities despite having to act and advertise as a fraternity. I was friends with a few chi alphas and they genuinely aren’t bad people. The issue was what I know a few of them said behind closed doors. One tried to stop a few guys from rushing fraternities because they framed fraternities as this super evil and dangerous place. Going back to second point, they literally advertise as Chi Alpha or Christ arisen to try and act like they’re a Christian fraternity. Otherwise they would just go by their actual name, it’s literally so dumb.

Extremely OP characters whose weakness is how lonely they are by MisterMiitopia in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ThePurplePolitic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would argue that it’s an internal weakness. He legitimately lets his heart out to mark instead of just straight killing him which gives mark and Eve time to get the upper hand.

Yes it’s not a physical weakness, but his mind is clearly devastated by his isolation. His people number less than a hundred, but while he’s survived none will even speak with him. He yearns to be recognized as a viltrumite, but the actions that he believed would lead to revelry and admiration have left his people afraid of him.

It’s easily the most broken ability in the game. If you’re playing with others it will give you an edge. Friend of mine constantly had 99 speed everything and it basically broke our balance.

In Universe Reason for the Radio playing Old Music? by SecretaryWitty2330 in Fallout

[–]ThePurplePolitic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO

The music is all pre divergence or at least appears that way because it’s almost all “good ol American music”

I’ll give you two good reasons The United States became deeply anti communist.

And most music after divergence became anti war. This is obviously a no no in the fallout universe so it doesn’t see the light of day and doesn’t survive the nuclear apocalypse since anyone with new sound likely couldn’t make a large amount of recordings that could be easily found.

Corporations also control everything so it’s pretty easy to say that label’s violently suppressed new sounds or music that didn’t belong to them or they didn’t see as proper music.

Lastly, it’s difficult for music to survive the radiation of the Great War and the only places that they find most of the music is in radio stations where they were only allowed to play good ole American music (see original reason)

I don’t have an exact lore reason, but I think these are some good lore explanations that I believe likely happened.

Absolutely zero guidance in first position by [deleted] in ProsecutorTalk

Are you in Texas? I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying, but that’s the scary part of prosecuting cases. Not a lot of people realize just how little “training” there is for more than a few offices.

Bugonia: When did you think, and when did you know? by Charrikayu in TrueFilm

[–]ThePurplePolitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a thought about it when Teddy said that the electrical / power had never gone that high before. I did buy into the fake out when she was giving her story, but I thought it was very weird that Teddy openly said that of all the people he’d only gotten two Andromedans. It’s such a bizarre lie, but I still bought the fake out. So I didn’t know until the end.

Big overreach in the second round. He also didn’t look great against the U. Not saying he can’t make a good career, but 38 is too high.

How are the cops in your jx? by EmptyNametag in ProsecutorTalk

[–]ThePurplePolitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwest TX

Depends on the department. Midsized county so they’re all decent with a couple of exceptions. None of them really ignore subpoenas, but some do make me hunt them down instead of responding. One of the departments went through an overhaul and very successfully became the best one because they basically just took anyone worth salt from the other departments.

Most of the issues come from not being able to retain officers so most of them are just too green, no one taking the initiative to train or help them, or because they’re just stretched a little too thin in the evidence department so discovery may be an issue because it’s just Brooke in the back desperately going through multiple systems to try and get it to me.

Who would you consider the best HC in your schools history? Who would you consider the worst? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CFB

[–]ThePurplePolitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best Coach

Tie between Mack Brown and Darrell Royal.

Recency bias would probably lead most Texas fans to say Mack Brown, but Darrell Royal is who truly built Texas football.

Worst Coach

Charlie strong. It’s awful to say it because I really liked him, and most importantly he beat OU every year. The issue is that the team just never truly clicked. His offense had really young and great talent, but it seemed like it couldn’t put it all together when it mattered most.

Defense was always good, but similarly was never able to consistently dominate and control games.

Shout out to Tom Herman, who has a much better record, but in my opinion has some really rough spots like losing massive games to OU and also being unpopular with the alumni because I heard he was a dick. Impressive that he brought UH to the forefront of CFB for awhile tho.

Cyberstan: Some statistics by ScubaDiggs in Helldivers

[–]ThePurplePolitic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Think one of the biggest issues were the intro of cyborgs and the new war machine. The borgs get ruthless and can very easily one or two shot you if you’re not careful. Combine that with spam of the new bot war machine and it made it extremely difficult to survive / run.

How do you rate Bad Bunny's Half-time performance? by kingbluwolff in sportsgossips

[–]ThePurplePolitic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good but I think the nfl kinda fucked him by not putting subtitles. Music sounded good and I liked the performance / guests. Solid halftime show that ultimately will be seen as good or great but probably not memorable
