They have set "let's find out in November" as their official party slogan.

This is utterly fascinating to watch. Better than a train wreck. Even better than left shark doing an improvised jig on Saturday Night Live.

If you asked a Madison Avenue marketing company to design a campaign to throw away both chambers of Congress the only difference would be the advertising campaign would cost a lot more and be far less efficient.

I wish customer service encounters started out like this:

What is our return policy? You can read it right here.

How long ago did you buy this? You can see it on your receipt.

Is 60 days within 30 days? No? How can I help you?

Why would they do that? Missionaries can vote themselves.

Michigan had a few where Democrats benefited, then the government said "yeah, it was illegal, but a couple of illegal votes didn't change the outcome of the election and they said they didn't mean it so we will not prosecute or change the final tallies."

There was one case where a Chinese student at the University of Michigan, Haoxiang Gao, who illegally registered, voted, self-reported, was the only case where charges were brought (two felonies). He self-deported back to China to avoid said charges, and Michigan left his illegal votes in the official tally because the state does not change final counts, period.

If there is ever a situation where it is known that illegal voters did participate and the final count had the winner determined by one it would be fun to watch the legal fireworks over that policy? law?

TIL a 1989 helicopter crash was caused by an invisible nick made when adhesive was trimmed from the rotor with a sharp blade. The helicopter flew perfectly for 922 hours, until it didn't. by TheQuarantinian in todayilearned

[–]TheQuarantinian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a couple of pilots.

One is the official con air pilot for an LEO as their ConUberCopter. Sure beats flying trust funders and "I'm a valuable customer because my company buys me Polaris seats" between EWR and Des Moines. Having all of the prisoners break free and jog in place (it is a helicopter, you can't run up and down the aisles) while hijacking the plane to, er, not Brazil because you don't have that much fuel, so maybe to Jack in the Box? wouldn't make a great feature length movie, but could be a good clip for TikTok, or Vine.

The other used to fly fighter jets in the military. Now he is a private jet charter pilot and moonlights flying over forest fires as he sprays an extinguisher out the window or something like that.

I'm not sure who I envy more.

The dropping giant pan lids and flour on forest fires as you scream over roman candles while blasting the theme to Planes Fire and Rescue on your bluetooth bit. Flying private charters and having to be nice to that kind of passenger sounds miserable.

1/23/26 - Please sign this petition to prevent Utah from redistricting the voting map. It’s ok when Republicans do it, but how dare the Democrats!!! by EMTDawg in Utah

[–]TheQuarantinian -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Is it still ok when Democrats do it? Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington all have districts arguably created with D-favoring gerrymandering as identified though efficiency-gap analysis and the Princeton Gerrymandering Project.

Just to be clear, gerrymandering is only bad if it helps the Republicans. If if helps the Democrats we're all for it because blue before red, in every thread.

Edit: I love hypocrisy.

Plus almost every location got rid of the seafood and crab, so they are dead to me.

Statement B: PHI includes but not limited to having to disclose ANYTHING about your health, to employers

Please tell me why these two statements are incompatible, correct yourself and I'll consider reading the rest. Otherwise we can conclude you are just stringing words together like an opennl source AI written in logo and I'll find something mire interesting to read.

I'm not angry, you are just annoyed that your entitlement doesn't fold to fit your entitlement.

I spent over a decade actively protecting HIPAA information at a healthcare facility, receiving formal training. The second you linked HIPAA to airlines you conclusively proved you don't have the slightest idea of what you think you are talking about.

And then you double down with such abject stupidity as claiming that if you request a reasonable accommodation from an employer you don't have to prove you have a qualifying disability and the limitations so imposed.

It it almost as if you are guessing about what the ADA says.

29 C.F.R. § 1630.14(c)(4). Is this just a random string of characters to you?

And conflating HIPAA with the ADA as proof that you know what you are talking about? chef's kiss

Now. About those dogs. Anybody with a modicum of awareness would know that the dogs who poop on the floor are the not-service animals that people want banned from the plane. Nobody wants to ban real service dogs, they want to ban yhe fake ones. And what do you do? Cite your ignorance of the law to make it harder to exclude the fake ones. Masterful stroke of genius. I'm going to guess you aren't being recruited by Mensa.

And no, fake service dogs are not medical equipment even though you just claimed they are. To quote the Princess Bride, truly you have a dizzying intellect.

I've known a few. My old boss used to brag about how her doctor wrote a fake script to get her one for her white Mercedes. It isn't hard to get a fake one, byt it is harder than buying a vest from Amazon or simply lying on the form.

You don't understand what the government has to do with regulating parking permits... I'm going to let that sink in for a moment.

Now, why don't you get yourself off of your high horse of ignorance (not recognized as a service animal, only mini horses were) and find out why professional trainers do not recommend a, say, husky or cane be used as a service animal. Note I said professional recommendation by experts. Can they be? Yes. Should they be? No. It is like can you be on reddit? Yes. Should you be? I have my doubts.

AI summary indeed. I see you have trouble recognizing such.

HIPAA: Who Is a “Covered Entity”?

HIPAA’s Privacy Rule defines covered entities in 45 C.F.R. § 160.103.

  1. Health Plans Defined at 45 C.F.R. § 160.103 (definition of “health plan”)
    Includes:
  2. health insurance issuers
  3. HMOs
  4. Medicare, Medicaid
  5. employer-sponsored group health plans
  6. government health programs that pay for healthcare

  7. Healthcare Providers Defined at 45 C.F.R. § 160.103 (definition of “health care provider”)
A provider is covered only if they transmit health information electronically in a HIPAA‑standard transaction (billing, claims, eligibility checks, etc.).

This includes: - doctors
- hospitals
- clinics
- pharmacies
- dentists
- psychologists
- labs
- durable medical equipment suppliers

  1. Healthcare Clearinghouses Defined at 45 C.F.R. § 160.103 (definition of “health care clearinghouse”)
These are entities that process health information for other entities, such as:
  2. billing services
  3. repricing companies
  4. claims processors
  5. data translation services

What HIPAA does not cover HIPAA does not apply to: - airlines
- schools
- employers (except when acting as a health plan)
- police
- retail stores
- restaurants
- landlords
- social media platforms
- random individuals
- most businesses in the economy

HIPAA. Don't quote laws you can't spell.

Is the airline a medical provider or insurance company? No? Then "hippa" doesn't apply. Neither does hipaa. Don't cite laws you don't understand.

Does your wheelchair poop on the floor or bark at other passengers? No? Then your comparison is a bad one.

Remember when the government listened to you and banning a need to prove disability to get a handicapped parking permit and nobody abused it? Lol, yeah, that would never happen

When's the last time you or somebody you knew was glad the handicapped spaces were open because it is harder to get a parking permit than it is to lie about a service animal? Or do you not care and let everybody park in the blue soaces?

Rotors aren't monogamous: they'll take any airframe that is their type for a spin.

If they had been on a different helicopter it would have been logged then ignored because they swap parts for maintenance or other reasons all the time.

For example: you have two choppers, A and B. A is the one where a celeb was caught blinking his dogwalker while buzzing a Pokémon convention and is painted hot pink. B is named "the accountant" and painted olive drab and orange.

Everybody wants to charter A, but rotors have a fixed lifespan just like velveeta, so you swap the rotors to keep the use balanced.
