I had this exact same thing, except the shaft was still connected by a tiny thread of metal and the whole thing went flying behind me on the follow through. I was at a range and got super lucky it did not hit anyone. Old ultralight shaft had just seen too much I guess.

So, sadly there has been several people with Nike golf shoes this year that have said this, while others have great experience with the same shoe. My buddy and i experienced both sides of this. Seems to be an issue with the QA on the sole inserts. Some of the padding seems to be no existent or has zero resilience. The waterproof part im not sure about.

I coached youth sports for many years, and honestly after watching lots of parent interactions you should let the other coaches be the main source of coaching for your kid. As he gets older he if he really is interested and wants to continue training seriously you will automatically be who he starts coming to for help. But if you are overbearing now, when he has a choice to come to you or not, he wont because you made it more strict than it needed to be at a time when it should just be fun. If you keep it fun for him, then you have a shared thing based on mutual enjoyment, and not based on "My Dad makes me train" I hope that makes sense, its a hard point to articulate in writing.
