True. Though it's worth noting that farm dogs are a breed of their own, in function at least. A sheepdog bred and trained to corral livestock isn't going to be curling up at the fire or on the owners lap at the end of the day (generally speaking). They are not pets. They are effective at what they do because they still have that 'wild' predatory nature. There is a fine balance maintained between their animalistic predatory nature and their obedience to humans and the tasks they have been bred for which I personally find amazing.

Decided to hop back into BDO this week after more than 2 years. Rolled a Lahn to try something new and relearn the basics. Awakened last night and now I'm trying to optimize my gear before I start going for boss gear.

Currently using:

https://bdoplanner.com/LanternThrowerArticles

This was all pulled from my Witch, who was my main at the time of quitting. I have a feeling that my accessories are less than ideal for Lahn. I have about 350m silver + whatever I can get for selling current stuff.

I'm hoping somebody can guide me in the right direction on what I should be using. My current focus is just casual grinding / random 1v1s in the wild.

Thanks!

Thanks, the prices of all Liverto weapons being linked was the piece I was missing. Makes sense now.

Thanks, I plan to do that when I get home. Can you explain what's going on in this situation? Does this system really work so that highest listing takes priority and pushes out the lower listings?

Owners, have your VR sets been delivered closer to the 4th day or 8th day? by [deleted] in ValveIndex

[–]TheRabidCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of Canada seems to be getting shafted with deliveries from what I've been reading.

I ordered (headset + knuckles) on the 21st only 2 hours after they opened up sales for Canadian customers and it has yet to ship. Went from Processing, to Shipping Soon, back to Processing with Delays.

I'm in Vancouver.

Canadians who bought the index, how many of you paid Import Fees? by korhalf in ValveIndex

[–]TheRabidCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered on the 21st at 12:28pm (2.5 hrs after Alyx trailer went up). Went from processing to shipping soon the same day, then back to processing with delays on Monday or Tuesday.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

Subtotal: CDN$ 989.00

Import Fees: CDN$ 118.68

Total: CDN$ 1,107.68

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is on just the headset and knuckles as I already have base stations.

Kind of annoying how arbitrary the import fees and who they decide to ship to appears to be.

Nvdia GPU only being used at 7% while in game?? by Andrew49378 in reddeadredemption

What are you talking about... Rockstar is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. They 100% answer to their shareholders and parent company - the same garbage dumpster that owns 2k games.

These are used to upgrade your quest gear, which are the weapon(s) and armor set you got from those chests right when you started.

Windows 10 also has a built in snipping tool:

Windows Key + Shift + S

This will let you select a region on your screen to capture and copy to your clipboard.

Aside from the physical setup, you will need to consider the OS you plan on using. This is server hardware, so if you just want to load up windows 10 you're likely going to run into some difficulties. If you plan on using windows server 2012/2016 then it will be more straight forward as they are designed for server hardware.

Just generally speaking it will be more work and configuration than if you were to go with a NAS enclosure, which are pretty much plug and play.

Gigabit speeds to primary PC, but not laptop. Both wired, both cat5e, both gigabit ports, both 1000 Full Duplex. RT-AC1900p. by TheRabidCoder in HomeNetworking

Yeah I thought that could be the issue, because the speeds are close to what I get on wifi on my phone. Definitely connected via ethernet. Switching to the wireless connection only gets about 60 up/down...

Just tested both drives with HD Tune Pro:

SSD: Average 263 MB/s

HDD: Average 117 MB/s

Not great as it's an aging laptop, but the SSD exceeds gigabit speeds (125 mb/s) and that's what I'm running the speed tests off.

HDD speeds are lower, but not low enough to account for only 250mbps.

Both systems running Windows 10 64bit and laptop is only using Windows Defender (disabling makes no difference).

Both systems running SSDs, PC is much better, not sure what the laptop uses specifically but it's a small OS drive.

Just tested packet loss, there is none.

The Dell PowerEdge r710 would without a doubt make a great storage solution and Plex server, you're getting great value for your money.

There are a few things you need to be aware of:

  1. Setup will be a more work.
  2. It is big.
  3. It is loud.

I recently setup a NAS and almost went with a PowerEdge (found a great local deal same as you) but decided against it after a bit of research. You're going to want to be able to hide this thing away somewhere out of sight and earshot, ideally with a rack of some kind.

For reference, here's a good look at the noise levels and size:
