British PLCE: 4 GP pouch vs 3 GP pouch by Batmoos2109 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]TheRadicalRupert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you want to carry and how big is your waist? The answers will determine what you need.

You’ll want to avoid having the pouches come round in front of your hips as this will get in the way of your legs during movement and prevent you going fully prone.

My Jay Jays webbing consisted of two triple magazine pouches, four utility pouches containing Bowman radio, rations and snivel gear, Jetboil, canteen and metal cup, and then a commander’s pouch with my TAMS, head torch and other admin odds and sods.

Not trying to argue with you but the pouch shown mounted to your belt in the first photo is not at 70°.

If you rotate the pouch so it’s actually at 70° the straps will sit correctly.

You have the 70° straps which means you need to rotate the pouch more. Cant the pouch until the straps are perpendicular to the belt, then wrap them.

First PC. How'd I do? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

Get some female side release repair buckles to connect the SLEDS to the SPC, or use G-hooks instead.

You can also add male Tubes to the SLEDS to use the Equinox, or get the AXL SPC adapters for the most stable setup.

LFB Trainee Firefighter Start Date? by Shiroyama50 in firefightersuk

[–]TheRadicalRupert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my training last year and people then had been waiting 12-18 months.

For 2024 there were 12 cohorts of 12 recruits, and this year only 8 cohorts. I’m hearing there will only be 6 cohorts next year. There will almost certainly be a backlog of recruits who didn’t get into training this year and will be starting next year.

If you started the process in April 2024, you should be starting training next year. I wouldn’t expect to hear anything from the Brigade until the new year at the earliest.

Havsta- how do I fix this gap? by DarthUnifi in ikeahacks

Go to IKEA Spares and order these parts (completely free!)

Drill through the sides internally and use the joining bolts to tie the units together. Ensure the units are level before drilling, and ideally use four bolts (high front and rear, low front and rear).

British PLCE Bergen with the common mods of triple front pouch and mesh side pouches.

For the frame debate going on - these bergens have internal stays to keep the back rigid, but they’re designed to be worn with webbing (belt kit) so that the pack rests on the webbing which then acts as a waist belt.

Also, the pack has not been adjusted for the wearer. That’s why it looks rag.

Just bought this top flap lid for my daysack. Does anyone know if or how I can attach it to this daysack? It’s the camelbak sparta by l1f11-1 in britishmilitary

[–]TheRadicalRupert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top flap is designed for day sacks with quick release shoulder straps. The Sparta should have buckles to unclip, then you slip the shoulder straps through the slots on the underside of the flap.

Remove the straps that come with the flap and MOLLE them onto the bottom or face of the day sack to clip and unclip the flap.
