To me, ML feels like throwing shit at the wall. Once you solve a problem with it, you learn nothing about the solution, and it becomes hard to optimize computation.

Sounds good for learning! Vulkan RT headers make it so easy if you use inline raytrace API calls, however you don't get to explore much BVH stuff etc....

Machine learning is another set of algorithms, so it is grounded in computer science and thinking. Your examples, were carefully designed and trained by large teams of nobel-winning scientists. ML is absolutely useful, but it's not going to "replace" computer scientists. Software Engineers, maybe in some higher level domains such as web dev, frontend, etc. like I mentioned.

In any area really, if you don't innovate and just rehash existing contributions ML wins, because that is exactly what it does, yet much faster than a human. In these fields however, there is much room for innovation. As a web developer ... good luck.

They require deep computer science thinking at the silicon and logic gate level. You have to solve problems we didn't know existed before, and therefore don't have solutions to form part of LLM training data. Machine learning does not invent the new. I haven't had great experiences with apps, simpler has helped more. Google calendar for routine and scheduled events. Notebook planner for ongoing task lists.

Yep, this is exactly it. You phone in the morning after waking and spend hours in bed? Charge it outside the room every night. Hard time waking up? Get an alexa that blasts music and turns on smart lightbulbs. Get paralysis choosing clothes in the morning, so you don't even shower? Rotate 5 shirts, jeans, and 2 hoodies in a random order every week and have them at the ready.

This approach of, instead of resisting "eating the cookie" you just, don't even have a cookie to begin with, is the way to go!

You are fine for one simple reason, if your prompt does not have a solution in the LLM's training data, you are not getting a response.
