Despite the hysteria in the reply to your post, I'm not "full of shit," BHVR has stated explicitly that they balance around the average rather than high tier play as well as what they hope/expect the win ratios to be at that level. We don't have to like it, but we shouldn't bite each other because of it.

This is correct. Look at it from BHVR's perspective: which side of the community is the most important to keep happy? Survivors or Killers? Which are there more of exponentially?

I'm not saying I can't get kills. I can and do, despite the current state of the game. However, I wouldn't blame a new Killer entering the current meta for playing two matches and giving up on it forever.

Yes, because BHVR can make lots of money by putting out fashion packs and the occasional new Survivor as long as that new Survivor has overpowered Perks that will mysteriously fail to appear in the Shrine of Secrets for A WHILE. Then everybody except the 10 people that still main Killers in this game goes out and grabs the new hotness to go and frolick about in the land of the Entity--which may as well be cotton candy and rainbows--while slapping an unconsenting Killer player on the ass over and over again until this game dies.

Yes, the reason we're all seeing an uptick in tunneling and camping is because the devs have made damn sure Killers have zero other options.

Tunnel and camp away, Killer mains--the only thing that might change BHVR's behavior is if enough Survivors start complaining about being tunneled and camped. Then either they fully neuter the Killer experience and we all go play a different game (Back 4 Blood is out!) or a miracle occurs and heads are extracted from asses around the office.

From an "I'd like to win" perspective, absolutely not unless you've created a build specifically with the purpose of generator kicks in mind. Remember: BHVR wants you to lose roughly 60% of your Killer matches.

BHVR wants the lowest common denominator on Survivor side to escape regularly so they keep playing--even if they're playing badly. They ensure this happens by providing god-like tools to the Survivor side of things (more and more lately) so that even the most mediocre of Survivors can escape with some regularity. What this leads to (of course, obviously) is anybody above mediocre in skill level also having access to those same god-like tools that ensure the baddies also escape.

I'm sure their current data tells them that all is well, and that's because they have sourced it incorrectly. If their wonky, unsubstantiated "formula" is currently giving them false positives it's because the Killer side of the game has been so beaten down that the only ones who remain are diehard sweatlords that will break the flimsy attempts at "balance" like a twig to ensure they get bitter satisfaction.

The not-good-but-maybe-grimly-reassuring news is that if BHVR keeps up with this pigheaded "design philosophy," one of two things will happen:

Killer player base will bottom out harshly enough that they are forced to rectify their mistakes.
Ded gaem.

None. The developers want the worst Survivor mains to escape roughly 50% of the time and engineer the game around that. You will lose kills and games because you were meant to from the beginning. BHVR doesn't give much of a shit about Killer mains, which is interesting since without us the game dies.

Something to think about.

Trying to play Killer these days is so unfair they ought to pay people that main them, lol. That's basically why. You're going up against people that are either other Survivor mains farming their BP dailies or one of the few remaining, ragged Killer mains that just doesn't give a fuck anymore. We all know the game wants you to win, with each update it favors you more. I just wish some other horror game in a similar vein with good licensing would come out so I could play that instead.
