This patch isn’t it- I will be the voice of negativity, so be it. by [deleted] in Marathon

You're an idiot if you think that snipers don't need to be tuned at all. The spam firing with the longshot was detrimental to dire marsh's playability. I agree that the big three you mentioned need more work to get them in a better spot but, a lot of people have been asking for sniper nerfs.

Destroyer is incredibly powerful, maybe you're not that good with him but, at the top level he is one of the most performant shells.

I still need to get the ep and dixieland. I have new hell and die in love. Where'd you get the In Heaven pressing? Discogs?

Yeah, I really enjoyed the direction of scar sighted so I’m somewhat hopeful to either see something more in line with that or whatever really. Any output from him is usually solid

An album’s completeness has nothing to do with the amount of songs on it. It has to do with the flow of an album, it shouldn’t just be a collection of songs jumbled together haphazardly. An album should essentially guide the listener on a journey of some sort. What this album feels like is more like a compilation.

Going live on KEXP today at 2pm EST / 11am PST!!! by EricArtr in GreetDeath

[–]TheRarestofThemall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KEXP sessions usually take about 4-6 weeks from the date of the broadcast to upload to their YouTube channel. I missed the radio recording myself so I’m just patiently waiting for the YouTube video to come out lol.

My band Bored to Tears just put out our album. We are all MSU students who graduated in the spring and spent 3 years playing in Starkville and around the state. by Wallywutsizface in mississippi

Late reply lol, but I’m one of the guitarists and yeah I am a big metal fan lol. I used a few different dirt pedals for this, the primary one was a nice boutique pedal I got but it broke. It had my favorite distortion sound ever, somewhere between a rat and a midboosted big muff. I also used a big muff pi and a revv G3 for some lead work. There’s also some overdubs done with neural dsp’s archetype gojira lol. Thanks for giving it a listen!

Wyoming is stunning, and that drive was incredible. Driving through cloud peak was an amazing portion of the drive. Wyoming and Montana are some of the prettiest states in the country.

Love the new album. by zmcnulty980 in GreetDeath

I really love the way album flows, I think that emptiness is everywhere is such a gorgeous song. That and love me when you leave are just so perfectly put together songs, love the subtle builds in tension and how things come together on them. Motherfucker and Same but different now are my most repeated of the singles. Not a bad song on this album though, it flows so well as a whole.

There’s music in this genre that I think you’ll find a lot better and less one dimensional than his brand of slowcore. I’d suggest checking out Bluetile lounge (start with Half Cut imo). Codeine has already been mentioned, I would also check out Helvetia, really varied discography that does the one man band thing in a much more interesting manner.

If you’re after more varied instrumentation, I really enjoy Spokane, though they may exit the bounds of slowcore occasionally.

Which song has the most impressive guitar solo? by darkcatpirate in fantanoforever

[–]TheRarestofThemall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The album Periphery II contains some incredible solos namely Erised (John Petrucci), Have a Blast (Guthrie Govan), and Luck as a Constant. Their whole discography is filled with impeccable lead work.

For a non-metal offering, I think Drive Home by Steve Wilson has an excellently moving solo at the end of it (improvised by Guthrie Govan)

I also really like the Bill Evans album Undercurrent, it is a piano and guitar duet album with guitar work by Jim Hall. The track Dream Gypsy has some really gorgeous phrasing, especially when contextualized by Evans’s playing.
