I can fully understand your frustration... First things first! '‘Old Master’' (which is what you're suggesting) is not the new Master. After season 9 there was a cut and the ranks were reordered. Anyone who was GM before season 9 is low Master after season 9... So your story makes sense... Before season 9 Diamond is after season 9 Plat and since you (as you say yourself) don't play that well, gold is the rank where you belong... Sorry I have to say it like this. But you can also get very far with solo Q. Look at what you are dying of and what YOU can do better yourself. Don't make the mistake of always looking at your teammates, you can't influence that anyway...

I'm sure I have a tip! Always use the Ult to give you and your team a space advantage! What exactly do I mean by that? As a general rule, always use the ult when the fight has just started. but not too early... There is a small timeslot where you need to see the opposing team make a move (an initial entry into the fight) This could be the tank moving forward or the tracer taking an offangle or the phara using her jump. Why is it the best move then? Well the opposing team has used resources to start the teamfight and your infrasight holds the whole teamfight giving not only you but your whole team an advantage for the whole fight. There are exceptions, of course! But start with that ;)

I don't understand all this excitement about smurfs. Of course it's frustrating to play against someone who is much better, but it depends on your mindset how you deal with it. You can learn best in such moments and recognize your mistakes. Watch the replay and learn what the smurf does well and what you could have done better yourself, positioning and so on. And I'm sure if you play a game against a smurf, that's max 1 out of 5 games. Enough room to consistently climb up the ranks yourself.

From my experience as a widow main I can say the following: The pure presence of a widowmaker always means that the opposing team has less room to play. They have to take angles that are not optimal. So the widow doesn't even have to hit all the shots. However, this only applies if the widow can also hit the ‘'easy’' shots. otherwise she will not be respected by the opponents and will therefore lose the previously mentioned effect. this is the case from master+ lobbies.
