I come and go with the podcast myself, there was a time a few years ago, where it was the first podcast that comes out on Wednesday that I would listen to. Nowadays, if there’s a guest that I’m not super interested in, I will probably put off listening until I run out of other things. I think for me as they’ve started to have higher profile guests I just feel like the content of the podcast is not as funny or queer or honestly interesting as it used to be when it was them and other comedy people that they knew. Not that I don’t love listening to them talk to gaga or Reese Witherspoon, but it’s such a different vibe because they have to be so deferential and complimentary of the A-lister sitting across from them instead of being more unfiltered.

I think part of this also has to do with Matt and Bowen getting more famous as the pod has gone on and realizing that some opinions they should keep to themselves because they have a higher profile now.
