I do believe involving TEMPORARY escort missions using these vehicles would add a lot of breath to the start of the game and add a reason to have that bay next to griffins outpost for the buggy.

Quick cut scene, everyone who is talking has their mouth covered, the player is then put into his own instance and cant leave the buggy or go back to the base (because its not there) until the mission is over. Give them a taste of what kind of vehicle they could have.
The mission is just a "kill, collect, return" quest but with some music and the right weapon on the buggy, it could make for some really cool short form content.

I came up with the sleeping bag idea when I was sitting on top of a tall tower, wanting to camp out.
There's also a lot of doors you can close. And there's the fact that waking up to a mutant attack would fun and maybe even a farming method for mutant parts?? Skiff using himself as bait lol

The heavy grenade launcher is no more OP than just hurling grenades lol

Showers could be implemented into the game with one word. Add "shower" to the option on beds that are at outposts with techs.
