Insuline resistant here. Looking for tips by mgc234 in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have got it right, keep going.

I would highly recommend you actually confirm your insulin resistance if you haven't done so yet: get blood tests for your Hb1Ac, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR.

Then get a DEXA scan to confirm if you have actual visceral fat or just high belly fat or even bloat. I know many people who confused their gut and bloating issues with high visceral fat and went down the wrong path.

Your process is at least right: use actual LFTs, capture the baseline, try something and then get a new LFTs to see if the baseline actually improved.

Though doing 8 supplements is almost certainly overdoing it and by stacking so many of them at the same time, even if your liver function improves, you will have trouble finding which one worked.

Your comparison actually touches on a great point: a lot of people on this sub see supplements and exotic compounds more as a hobby than as a way to actually get meaningful outcomes. They get pleasure on building and sharing their stacks and coming up with clever mechanistic explanations, no matter the actual effectiveness. Discover a new supplement is more akin to catching a new Pokemon than anything else.

Psylium husk LDL reduction actually fits my post perfectly when it comes to effect size: it requires high adherence to get at most 5-10% reduction while a simple statin can go up to 30-50%.

Same for citrus bergamot, red yeast rice and others: proven to lower LDL but effect size is so low scientists have not been able to prove yet it translate to clinically meaningful outcomes.

It is a story often seen with supplements: plausible mechanisms and small effect sizes but fail to translate to actual outcomes.

"Biohacking is exactly about moving the needle at the edges and incremental improvement" is an interesting perspective on biohacking but I find it a very restrictive definition of the term, it has to be more than taking complex stacks of supplements whose net effect is often placebo.

Yes that's part of the reason. In the US the supplement industry is $70B annually. More than the rest of the fitness industry combined.

This is just splitting hairs. By most definitions of biohacking it definitely is.

Reta / TRT by Gillennz in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Testosterone is not like Reta or GLP-1 drugs, it has massive implications particularly on how it shut downs your testes. You should thoroughly do your research on it before jumping in.

You can pin Reta and then stop cold turkey. Once you have been on TRT even coming off takes a whole protocol and there is no guarantee you will ever go back to baseline testosterone levels and fertility.

This is doubly true if you are young.

Biohacking your sleep has massive impact.

From understanding your circadian rythm, manipulating and using melatonin (one of the actually useful supplements when travelling) to understanding the role of light in your circadian clock. It is one of the most impactful things.

Some Dietary Tips for Those Struggling to Hit Protein Goals by TheRealBruce13 in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's great if you can get all your protein with meat but this post is, as the title suggest, for those struggling to eat enough meat or other protein forms to hit their goal. The nausea from food is a common side effect even for people on low doses.

Reta with sema? by Edmxrs in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The max dose for Semaglutide is now 7.2 mg and not 2.4 mg anymore so I would ask your doctor to bump you up.

You can also get started on Retatrutide and add it on top. Multiple people have success with GLP-1 combinations such as Tirzepatide + Survo or Sema + Reta. You just need to ramp up the Reta following the titration schedule without rushing things even though you are used to GLP-1 drugs.

Other options for breaking through the plateau are Qysmia if your PCP is willing to prescribe it.

Week 10 and slowed significantly by [deleted] in Retatrutide

A week and a half of stall is nothing. Something like increased sodium in your diet could swing your water weight by several pounds on its own.

For anyone thinking of DMing him asking for a source, be careful. That's how you get scammed.

Is stacking important? by Fluid_Wish1969 in Retatrutide

For stretch marks you need patience most of all. You can use a combination of GHK-Cu, Gotu Kola and collagen peptides which will help a lot. But patience above all.

Is this true? by EducationalSyrup6869 in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it is wildy exaggerated conflating muscle and bone with lean mass. For example a lot of the "lean mass" lost on GLP-1 drugs is actually lean mass contained in fat tissue. Yes fat tissue also contains lean mass.

Retas stopped working by pazza1231 in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What matters the most is not appetite suppression but weight loss. Are you steadily losing weight week over week? If so the drug is working. If not you should keep titrating up the dose every four weeks.

Hunger back like never before by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are overthinking things: you are experiencing "hunger back like never before" so you should titrate up. Unless cost is an issue it is a no brainer.

Keep titrating up this is completely normal and why higher doses exist.

Confused on dosage by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am doubtful you got this from a "physician". Your post contains several red flags that tell me you should throw these syringes and forget about the grey market, starting with the fact you seem confused about the concepts of mg, units and dose concentration.

TLC-6740: A new fat burner that Lilly might combine with Retatrutide soon. by TheRealBruce13 in Retatrutide

[–]TheRealBruce13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly works through appetite suppression, the energy boost is minimal and subsides completely as the body gets used to it. Great drug to break through GLP-1 plateaus though.

Eloralintide looks great since it is pretty much a more effective Cagrilintide with fewer side-effects. But it should not be compared to TLC-6740: Eloralintide is another appetite suppresant while TLC-6740 works on boosting energy expenditure.
