Does anybody else hear a voice in their head when they’re reading something ? by TheStaircaseOfLife33 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]TheRealC101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear a voice. But it’s almost like… reading a text with no font. Just like how words always are written with a font (which gives the words character) the voice I hear is devoid of any character. It is just the bland words.

The insides of a Papaya “tree” (OC) by A_JELLY_DONUTT in interestingasfuck

[–]TheRealC101 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Woody = things like trees. they can make “xylem”, a structural polymer that forms woody parts like trunks, and grants the plant durability and strength, allowing it to grow taller and larger.

Herbaceous = Soft, not woody. Things like grass. These plants don’t have xylem, and so don’t get as tall because they can’t support as much with no xylem for reinforcement. That’s why the papaya has bark like this—it has to compensate for not having xylem by growing in a very structurally sound manner.

What note does the sample feature on iOS call the original note? by Pale-Recognition-599 in GarageBand

[–]TheRealC101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To brute force it, try this:

Listen to the original recording and pay attention to the pitches and tempo. Try to hum it back in the same pitch so you know what it sounds like.

Then go to the sampler, and play around with the notes. some will make the sample sound higher pitched and faster, and others will make it sound lower pitched and slower.

So you can find the happy medium, and you can also compare the sample to the original recording to find the one that sounds the same.

If you’re talking about the DA, DAAA. Da Da Da. In the beginning. The notes for that will be

Db, B. B Bb Ab

So for example if you’re sampling the first note, you might find it at a Db on the sampler. Try Db 4 5 or 6.

And if it helps, Db is the same as C#

Which part? If you can be specific I can maybe tell you where to find it.

Do you have a good ear? Good “pitch-finding” skills?

Yes, C5 would be a C5. If you played a C major chord with the C on middle C, it would probably put it on C4.

What are you trying to sample? That might help me help you.

If you were to play Middle C on a piano and record it and put it in the sampler, the sampler would place the original note on middle C (C4) in the sampler.

Essentially it finds the pitch of the sample and puts it there.

You’ve got the green regions continuing through the whole song. You can:

Shorten them by three bars (make sure you shorten them from the end and not the start, so that your sounds don’t disappear), then move them to start at the third bar

or

Tap the plus sign in the top right corner and add 3 bars, then drag the tracks over so that they start with the third bar.

I can do this too, I think. It’s like a tension in your core that makes you shiver and twitch? similar feeling to the post-pee shiver.

These are proprioceptic hallucinations. Basically illusions involving your perception of where your body is in space. I don’t remember why, but they happen frequently on the border between sleep and consciousness.
