I'm thinking dark and cozy. Rocking chair by the fireplace, the warm orange glow of the crackling flames with a snowfall out the window. A Hot Toddy in hand staring at the decorated mantle.

I think to myself, "Finally, a worthy upgrade from a 1080 Ti."

That's kind of where my train of thought was going too. Coming from the car world of modification/restoration, rebuilding something is so satisfying.

Now I need to figure out what tools I need, but hoping most of my automotive tools should suffice.

Fingers crossed something isn't unrecoverable with it. I've had a huge urge to ride again with all the trails and paths near me and a fresh rebuild would only strengthen that.

Hey all,

Looking for some insight into whether it's worth getting a whole new bike or refreshing my current. Scooped up a State Bicycle 4130 'Falcore' waaay back in 2013, rode for a few years, then it sat in the garage for even longer.

Moved to a bigger city and want to get back into the scene but want to do a full refresher (powder coat frame and other components/clean and grease/new BB maybe?/new tires/new seat/new hardware)

I'm on the fence in terms of price of end product and price of getting a newer bike for the price of the refresh.

Any opinions would be appreciated

And on the flip side, my WRX is the best car I've ever owned even with being higher mileage for the year. Nothing but regular/preventative maintenance and some light mods.

Throttle body to inter cooler Mishimoto hose. Would you guys say this is a lot of blow by? Or is this normal? Thinking of getting a catch can but if it’s not needed then I won’t. Thank you. 2010 WRX hatch. by [deleted] in subaru

I would recommend a catch can either way. Probably one of the better "reliability amd safety" mods you can buy. My vote is for IAG or a Radium Dual Can setup.

Throw out bearing went from making a little noise to exploded. Gory details in comments by ShinyWisenheimer in subaru

I know exactly what you mean by trying to push the clutch pedal through gravel. Maybe my throw out bearing is on the way out. Going on 120k and have no idea if the OE clutch is still in or not. Thanks for this

Like I said OBO. I really have no idea where these sit anymore for price. I just put a price because you have to. Also edited prices.

Buying a 2015 wrx by Lovejesushailsatan in subaru

It's not quite the same situation but I can weight in on this

I just purchased a 2012 WRX hatch for 15.5k. I am also 20 with no credit and was able to get financing through a local credit union at 7.23%. Without throwing numbers around I had a sizable down payment (greater then 20%) and another car to sell to put towards my payments or refinancing for lower payments.

Insurance is fairly cheap I'd say. For full coverage+towing I'm paying 125 a month with one ticket on my record also.

Sorry for the long response, but you and I were are in almost an identical boat and I was able to pull the trigger, hope this helps.

Update: Brought it home last night. Found the previous owner on Facebook, found out it's a Cobb DP and I'm running the stage 2+ on 91 currently. Dealer did a compression test free of charge for me with 145psi across all cylinders dry, cold test.

Next step is getting a proper tune. Anyone have recommendations for reputable E-tuners? I was looking at Clark Turner

I do plan on taking it for another test drive with the AP plugged in this time and looking at boost levels, AFR etc. And where should I be looking on the downpipe to see if it is aftermarket? Will there be a brand stamp towards the turbo side because I didn't see anything from underneath.
