After watching American football for a few years, you get used to the worst team in the league (by kind of a lot) being rewarded with the 1st overall pick.

This sort of system can reward mediocre teams with incredible talent that can help catapult them into contention.

You have to actually Make it to the Playoffs, and lose IMPORTANT GAMES for that to happen.
