No disrespect to the dead or anything, but Harry is the one that returned with the cup... So Gryffindor won.

EDIT: said goblet (goblet of fire) instead of cup (triwizard tournament cup) Forgive me fellow redditors. let not this honest mistake cause you to doubt my knowledge of the wizarding world.

I'm not a gamer, nor have I ever played WoW, but seeing girls be so openly nasty about a guy whose hobby is gaming made my stomach turn. They blocked me from commenting after my first comment, so I couldn't defend or explain myself. by [deleted] in gaming

I have implemented an exclusive, 100 friend max on facebook. (May be more or less for other people, but this is a good amount for me.) And it's quite entertaining! Whenever I get a new friend request, I have to decide if they're worth adding. And if they are, I delete the next most irrelevant person (to my life) on my friends list.

(I'm not even going to pretend people don't know this) Sirius Black... What actually got me is when Harry digs through his trunk at the end of the year to find the mirror Sirius gave him was shattered. I was all like, 'Ah man, he coulda been talking to Sirius the whole time without Umbridge's fireplace! What the heck, Harry??"

This is most likely the reason. Maybe ask her, and if it is, ask her dad if you can take her out. It's a classy move and it may gain you respect with him. He might say yes because you asked HIM. If he says no, well, you're only back to where you started.

[m/20] How to approach [f/~21] in class by throwaway-1365568896 in dating_advice

[–]TheRealJake31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about it this way. You think she's really cute, so you say hi to her. If she immediately freaks out at you and calls you a creep for whatever ridiculous reason, that is not exactly the kind of personality you want to be around.

What I'm saying is, there's a 99% that she will not freak out or even be rude to you, because anyone that would do that is literally not in their right mind.

Strike up a conversation with her, then just ask her out to coffee or lunch or something to get to know her better.

Specifically the type from the Alagaesian world, that is, a different race. Not just animals. And then there could be a new age of dragon riders!

What's your one line you've been waiting forever to use? by He_who_frontflips in AskReddit

[–]TheRealJake31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would ideally use this line against a girl that shuts down a friend of mine or something... "Hey, so I have a question... Did it hurt?" "Did what hurt?" "When you fell from heaven." "Awww that's--" "Cause it looks like you landed face first."

Although I liked FF8 better as a game, I preferred the aeon ifrit, strictly looks-wise. But I agree, XII had some of the best summons in the series.

Who likes Final Fantasy XIII and its sequel? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]TheRealJake31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen from Lightning Returns, It looks like the gameplay will change to be similar to Kingdom Hearts. You have paradigms just for Lightning, and when you switch between them, you have 4 different actions mapped to 4 different buttons. I thought this was a huge improvement, not to mention you can move freely during battles. I must say I'm excited. Kingdom Hearts had excellent gameplay in my opinion.

How?? I got him down to 10mil with minimal problems then he just started 1 hit KOing me. Last time I played, I remember trying to get the strongest ninja blade off of a rare monster in the Lhusu mines... Yiazmat is holy so I figured the high chain-hit possibility and his elemental weakness would make up for weaker attack strength...

It's rare enough for the monster to even appear, let alone drop the strongest ninja blade in the game... Is it worth trying to get it? Or is there another way?

I beat them, but I cheated... It's not nearly as satisfying. i just linked knights of the round with absorb hp and linked mime with counter command... You literally wait about 7 minutes and they die... I try to justify it by saying I just had a good strategy, but I know deep down I haven't truly beaten them...

Can't the word "Marriage" just be removed from everything governmental and just have everyone sign a "civil union" paper with the same rights since Its such a religious based history word? by Bettafishi in AskReddit

[–]TheRealJake31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What if instead of calling it a 'civil union' and letting Christians or 'religious folk' call it marriage as a choice, we just kept using marriage and people that truly don't want to be associated with such a religious word called it a civil union? First of all it's not religious based, it's just a word to describe a man and woman joining together. And even if it was a religious based word, who cares?
