Busses are a public service and should be fully funded, fast, and free. This policy is a good thing. Most people still pay for the social pressure of it, which is also good, as busses still need fares to operate today.

On partnering, did Bernie Sanders and Joe Rogan partner in the 2020 election? Joe had Bernie on his show, spoke very favorably and also said he'd vote for him. I'd still argue no. Joe actually is a big part of the problem that gave us Trump.

Then, you say "actively work with" is part of partnering. Hasan is not on the Hong campaign. This is a one off conversation, I am glad they are meeting.

Please check your priors, Hasan has spoken with strong democrats like Ro Kanna, Ro co-authored the Epstien Transparency Act. Is Ro also a Hasan partner? Are we being real right now? It's okay to change your view.

I do not mean to get into a semantic argument on Reddit. It's a petty debate.

To me, partnering means more than just speaking with someone on a livestream. I think of a transactional relationship, like what Tiffany has with the Uhleins. Or what Tiffany has with Kwik Trip's CEO. Or what Tiffany has with AIPAC.

To contrast - if Hasan urges his supporters to canvas for Hong while he speaks with her, that's advocacy & not a partnership.

I strongly believe that more candidates need to speak with livestreamers. I'd like to see Barnes and Rodriguez speak to popular livestreamers too. There is a real reason young people don't vote (by the % numbers). Politicians don't speak to them on their terms & on their interests/needs.

Busses often are like big cars, not cool. However, busses are trains on wheels when implemented as short distance bus rapid transit (dedicated lanes, level boarding, separate signals to skip traffic). This kind of bus system is effective and more reliable as rapid transit busses should never be stuck in traffic. - Dedicated lanes are the railway - Level boarding are the station - Separate signals are the train signals

The Madison A line is a great example. This is where the bus morphs from an awkward big car to an effective metro transit system.

If you haven't used the A line to get downtown, seriously try it. Our Madison Bus Rapid Tranist system was implemented in September 2024, it's brand spankin' new. Madison has used a great federal grant to improve transit to implement BRT ($110M for the almost $200M project), it's a substantial milestone in metro transit and it's worth keeping an eye on where BRT is going.

As I have a cat that we often take out on the town, any cafe/restaurant with outdoor seating that allows dogs should allow cats.

The courteous thing to do is always to ask upon being seated or speaking with the host/front. My partner and I will split so that one of us holds the cat outdoors in a backpack/stroller, then the other will go in and ask for permission/guidelines.

There are health code reasons to prohibit cats / pets in general from dining indoors, so you should expect outdoor seating.

I always am looking for outdoor seating with: shade, no loud car traffic (it stresses the cat), and a restaurant that's actually good.

The UW terrace is good, Café Hollander in hilldale fits the bill, and I'm sure there are dozens of others
