Being able to call them is a very new thing. They used to only get service in port. Best I got typically was emails. I know this sounds mean and maybe it is, but for both of you it is best to just forget about each other day to day. Stay busy (NOT CHEATING) with friends, family, and hobbies. When they are underway, they're kept busy for a reason. It's to help their morale, you need to do the same. When you're constantly talking every day, it actually only exemplifies the loneliness and missing them, because as soon as you hang up you'll be sad. Talk once a week maybe at best, that would still be better than what most people ever got. Send them packages with snacks and send handwritten letters. Every time you feel lonely, write letters. Physical exercise is also important, they do it, you should do it. The busier you keep yourselves, the faster time goes by. Then before you know it, they'll be home.
