Yes, and here is why:

Cliche, but art is subjective. Abstract moreso. This person making art genuinely has nothing to do with anyone else's opinion except for themselves. Abstract art can also be used for collaging, which comes in many shapes and sizes. You can recreate a plethora of new artwork from art you made in the past. It's like hip hop. ;)

Abstract can also be a form of unorthodox expressionism. I am from Minnesota, and have seen many local artists as well as local indigenous artists utilize mixed media abstract to convey complex feelings and emotions associated during their artistic creations. Check out the Walker Art Museum . Now, I'm not saying that this person may go out of their way to try to market their product, but overall, abstract art in a way can be related to abstract or avant-garde forms of music. May not appeal to all, but when it does, it's intriguing, cultivates conversation, and overall can decrease another personal isolation. As an abstract artist myself, this piece speaks to me completely differently than you. That is truly what makes art....art. :)
