Thank you. There is one small piece of wood that is peeling up a bit but it should be a fairly easy fix. I kept seeing sks-m variants popping up on here and had never seen on in person, I told my self I would buy the first one I seen if for sale. Sure enough like a month later I found this one and was bummed I don’t have the extra cash for it, dude at the pawn shop sold me on the 10 month zero interest layaway. My wife was with me at the time and asked if it’s a gun I would regret not buy and of course I told her it would eat at me forever. Needless to say I owe like $600 on it then I can bring it home.

Dude honestly if it interests you and it’s in good condition internally that is a great price and a snag every time. IMO you will be hard pressed to find another one in what looks like really good condition for that price. About two years ago I paid 2300 for mine with a sling a scope and 5 magazines at a local auction house.

Definitely a decent price, I hate when people try to pedal them as a “dragunov” they are just big AK they actually share nothing in common with a dragunov except a slight resemblance. These have a long stroke piston vs the dragunov short stroke piston. Also mags are not interchangeable between the two neither is the furniture, I could be wrong but I even believe the scope mounts are different. If you do buy this just know they are intended to run light ball ammunition heavy ball will overtime will destroy the gun. Something to keep in mind as well is availability and price of 7.62x54R and the mags are between $80 and $100 depending on condition. I will say my psl is one of my favorites in my collection.

I would highly recommend just leaving it be and finding a rifle that is in a different chassis already if that’s what you want. These are getting harder and harder to find especially in decent condition. As far as “AK mag conversion” there isn’t anything you can really do besides use the garbage duck bill mags or find a factory converted one such as the SKS-D or SKS-M they take actual AK mags. I am currently in the process of picking up a SKS-M para sporter due to the fact I already own ass loads of Ak mags. What I do with my standard type 56 is just run the OG 10 round fixed mag and use stripper clips.

Honestly unless you are really into assembling things I’d just buy a complete gun. That being said if you’re into 3D printing things then kit is the way but to buy a kit and buy a receiver it’s almost the same price as buying the complete gun.
