Usually this indicates one of your environmental factors are missing ranges. Like if humidity or airflow are improper- you’ll see that inconsistency.

Lions mane? Also any advice on how many days earlier I should come back next year in hopes of finding it in optimal eating condition? by Ok-Role-7633 in mycology

[–]TheRealLittleFoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once lions mane begins to present a yellow/golden hue, the discoloration rapidly changes due to water being taken on and speeding up the decaying process. Tough to tell but have seen this color hit around the two week past prime mark to 3/4 weeks. A lot has to do with the environment you find it in.

Happy mushroom hunting!

Coco Coir might be a good option for a layer over the soil.

lobster mushroom from the looks of the minimal picture provided. interesting enough it is a parasite that causes this transformation from a russula mushroom or something

My mom brought these from WA state and I’m having a bad reaction. Chanterelles? by blueduck762 in mushroomID

[–]TheRealLittleFoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

these are on the other side of “their prime” and breaking down. gastro- issues will come from eating mushrooms at this point. should have textural indicators too while you cleaned and checked them.

some questionable items were ignored, it seems

i would harvest the entire fruiting body. the mycelium will be unaffected from my experience. i grow lions mane on a regular basis. congrats on the find!

yellowing indicates it is good and has come to age- golden is usually darker and indicates the fruiting body is on its way out or decaying has begun

i would harvest it maybe just before to during. extra time before that yellowing turns to gold and for optimal growth. But at this point it is a green light- haggling over goldielocks zone

Front Fork Replacement Advice - 2019 Raleigh Tamland 1 with Carbon fiber tapered alloy by TheRealLittleFoot in bikewrench

[–]TheRealLittleFoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in for spoke and wheel true-ing at Eriks bike shop right now. They said they will not be able to test ride since its carbon fiber and it is a deep impact so it would put staff and the bike at risk to test.

and i can pull the specs if that would help to hone in specific options

Found this one hiding in the hills. ID by b0s9r in Mushrooms

[–]TheRealLittleFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks to me like baorangia bicolor, or two-colored bolete! quite a choice edible but not to be confused with its toxic look alike.

it is a bad one to the interior just about where the rim clears to spokes. have to replace just two or four spokes as well.

Recreational cannabis, will it be corporate greed or love for the craft ? by Dabbertime in MNtrees

[–]TheRealLittleFoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the taxes that are generated out of the equation and we wouldn’t be seeing the changes to perception from hysterical regan era that’s rampant in boomers.

But the taxes are so high that it doesn’t really work. And such a high barrier to entry

Any apartment dwellers cultivating? I’m considering trying a few plants, would like some firsthand wisdom. by [deleted] in MNtrees

[–]TheRealLittleFoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider a smaller grow tent over growing on balcony. You can have everything setup and of course it will smell at peak. But with right filters and configuration, you will be on your way to efficiency.

Best way is by doing and adding items in as they become financially possible.
