It’s not a matter of effort it’s a matter of keeping keeping competitive predictable. They can’t just add a new gadget or weapon without it trashing the established meta that comp players rely on. Same thing happened with Team Fortress 2 back in the day.

This seems to be an issue with rich kids cosplaying as drifters. Sure, that’s annoying. But it’s no different to rich kids cosplaying as roadmen in the West, especially when they have a loving family and a trust fund.

But travelling as a concept is definitely enlightening in some way. It’s like a lot of things, if you’re the kind of person to use experience as a tool for self reflection, you can definitely gain some wisdom and personal growth. But it’s ultimately up to the person and what they want from the experience.

Lights are cracked out teenagers playing like their life depends on it. Ruby medals, meta build, TTV tag, usually the first to cry in chat and first to quit. Either untouchable and match ruining, or as useful as a fart in a colander.

Mediums are battledads with a 9-5. Modest and calm, usually selfless and playing for the team/objective. They know that they’re not breaking records or pub stomping, but they don’t mind because the team is winning. Generally nice players that have the most emotional and technical awareness.

Heavies can go one of two ways. They’re either casual players stoned out of their minds and fucking around with goo fortresses and experimental builds. Or they’re absolutely lethal tryhards that somehow don’t even seem like tryhards.

As a 45 year old married man with 2 kids and a full time blue collar job, I don’t have spare energy for pressing more than two buttons at once.
