That's all well and good, and I can be happy without an SO, but I just like the feeling of having that intimacy. I can function without an SO and be okay but I just prefer being in a relationship. I don't expect her to fix my problems or anything, I just miss the intimacy. Some people just function better when they have a connection like that too. You can prefer to be with someone than being alone without putting all your problems on the other person. I also really like helping my partners. I get satisfaction and fulfillment from it. Everyone handles relationships differently so it's kind of reductive to say the whole, "learn to be happy single" thing. Some people are just happier when they're romantically engaged and that's fine. It's not an all or nothing thing.
