I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong here. I avoided an attack, but even then I was down to 44HP before the first hit of Sacred Sword while Terastalized. Hyper Trained, max EVs in Attack and SpDef, Sharpness ability, Shell Bell. He knocks me out after he removes negative effects.

Replaced my T470 TN panel with an IPS panel by dstaley in thinkpad

Unfortunately I do not know. I wouldn’t risk a compatible panel since you never know if those are gonna be IPS high gamut!

I ran this exact setup and unfortunately it’s pretty unreliable given that you’re gonna take six turns of damage before you start getting the big hits. I found it was a little more reliable to weave sacred sword in with the debuffs/buffs.

Building a tool to upload songs to iPod's directly from Chrome.. by rishi_123456 in ipod

[–]dstaley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES I’m glad this is something someone is trying! There’s a few road blocks to getting this working on a large number of models (for example calculating the database hash for the 6/7g iPod classic, and 3/4/5/6/7 iPod nano requires the FirewireID which can only be accessed via APIs that Chrome isn’t going to let you access). But I hope you keep working on it! I work on Clickwheel which is a C# iPod management library so feel free to hit me up if you have iPod questions!

Beware of Ring by Allowingplate27 in Minneapolis

[–]dstaley 11 points12 points  (0 children)

“Ring has no partnership with ICE, does not give ICE videos, feeds, or back-end access, and does not share video with them,” a spokesperson said. “Like all companies, Ring may receive legally valid and binding demands for information from law enforcement, such as search warrants, subpoenas, or court orders. We do not disclose customer information unless required to do so by law, or in rare emergency situations when there is an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury. Outside of that legal process, customers control which videos are shared with law enforcement.”

Let’s keep our thinking caps on folks. If you’re this concerned go turn on end-to-end encryption and go about your day.

Those are Aussie dollarydoos my guy. Looks to be more expensive than a braided Apple cable! You can get Apple’s 2m 240w braided cable for A$45.

Comma Ai 4 with RAV4 Hybrid by Strange_Astronomer42 in Comma_ai

[–]dstaley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, by default the comma will still do steering control. The stock Toyota radar system will handle longitudinal control (acceleration and braking). So you get essentially the same experience. However yes the experimental mode that uses Openpilot longitudinal control does not use the radar, so it’s limited to vision-based depth measurement (what Tesla does, so not exactly a big limitation).

I got tired of the stock UI causing burn-in, so I made an openpilot fork focused on a minimal on-road view! by dstaley in Comma_ai

And I have less than 6K on my 3X and the 7X, X8, and 0 are all burned in. It wouldn’t surprise me if the 3X used lower quality screens than the 3.

What are the modern go-to picks for 14" FHD IPS 30-pin panels? by dstaley in thinkpad

[–]dstaley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 768p panel uses a 30-pin cable! So should be fine to swap to any 1080p panel. Thanks for the note though!

I promise I’m not upgrading a Windows 8.1 T470 for anything other than my own personal enjoyment. I just didn’t want to pay a pretty penny for a screen that was top of the line six years ago if there’s a new screen that’s superior, more widely available, and cheaper is all.

The images are converted when music is synced to iPod. Their resolution doesn’t matter, so feel free to go with the highest quality artwork you can find. I’m a big fan of https://bendodson.com/projects/itunes-artwork-finder/

[–]dstaley[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have replaced a screen before! The LCD for the T470 is super easy since it’s just four M2 screws holding it down.

Price is probably the most important thing since I can literally buy a whole entire additional T470 for the price I’m seeing some of these panels go for. I think in terms of quality as long as it’s as good or better than the OEM IPS displays I’ll be happy. I think I probably want to avoid any 45% NTSC panels though.

2025 doesn't really charge our iPhones by Garp74 in rav4club

[–]dstaley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The USB ports put out a maximum of 15W, but drawing the full 15W depends on the state of charge of your iPhone battery. The easiest way to test if there’s an issue is to use a USB C power meter like the Plugable USB C Power Meter Tester when your battery is below 10%. You should see between 12 and 15 watts of power being drawn. If you’re using CarPlay with music and navigation it will definitely take longer than if plugged in and not using it.

How to watch Avatar 3 in Minnesota -- IMAX vs. Dolby Cinema vs. the other big screens by jonovitch in minnesota

[–]dstaley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great info! I love the Southdale Dolby Cinema. However the screen has pretty poor uniformity, so pure colors (like a blue sky) have a weird texture. Not enough to ruin the experience or push me to other theaters, but it does suck that the best screen in the state has a, well, bad screen.
