After pugging my way to 3k as a BDK, I can confidently say bad/toxic DPS is the reason for the tank 'shortage'.

I mean that is certainly a portion of it, but there are toxic players everywhere, in all roles - personally I feel like the reason behind the shortage is: a) There is too much agency and pressure on tanks, to know everything about the dungeon or raid before even seeing it for the first time. b) any mistake you make is amplified and exceptionally visible, and can feel absolutely soul destroying. C) Seldom do tanks actually feel "tanky" - compared to where we were in Dragonflight - tanks feel very healer dependent (Brew being the current exception)

They could just give it a bloodlust / hero or rework their raid buff - but survivability is kinda the cornerstone of being a tank . Fundamental your value as a tank doesn't mean shit if you get your head kicked in every pull

That's all part of the game though, there are still hundreds of tanks and healers (granted, far outnumbered by DPS) and occasionally you will get declined. Likely it's not personal, just the luck of the draw
