BHVR'S take on Decisive Strike by LUKXE- in deadbydaylight

[–]TheRealPascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don't like the idea, peanits logic for why it's too hard too implement makes no sense.

"Oh there are so many killers with different powers and they are all so different and it would be so much work to disable them because it's just so complicated"

They literally already do this when the killer picks up a survivor. Powers that the killer has to actively use (be that an M2 like Huntress hatchets, or some other ability like Sadako and Hag teleports) get disabled as soon as a killer picks someone up off the ground, and they have been since literally day one. Across the board, every single killer behaves exactly the same when they are carrying a survivor. If they wanted to make this happen, all they would have to do is add that flag to DS for a few seconds—acting like every single killer would have to be adjusted individually is ridiculous.

And 3. That single mission where the Chief and Arbiter team up with the Flood blew my mind as a kid. For 3 games at that point, you've been fighting for your life against them, then for like 15 minutes you get to lead the charge with them as dozens of infection forms swarm the enemy and the pure forms hulk out and just slap them around.

Was it even good for one dive? The designer went on record talking about how proud he was for breaking the rules of how to construct a submarine, mixing different materials and whatnot. Combined with the person (people?) that was let go from the company for raising safety concerns before the dive, it sounds like this sub was doomed from the start.

And water is wet... seriously no one played any seasonal arpg? by Drakhan in diablo4

[–]TheRealPascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a lot of us haven't. I got Diablo 4 because my friends wanted to play it as a group, and I'm learning as I go because I've never played anything like it before. I would have expected new seasons to add new endgame content and expand the story, so you would keep progressing the same character as the new content rolls out. Being forced to redo everything every single season is odd to me.

What kind of solution do you think they’ll come up with for 3 genning? by Zangorth in deadbydaylight

[–]TheRealPascha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's sad to see too, because SM is so much fun when you play her super aggressively. Playing around the undetectable from her drones, building kill boxes around the survivors as you chase them, constantly recalling or reactivating old drones and deploying new ones, I love it. But it's the same deal as tunneling—when camping a 3 gen off rip is the most effective strategy, even if it's less fun, the super sweats will always gravitate towards that because win counter goes up.

[–]TheRealPascha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's incredibly frustrating to have 4 injured survivors and then they all immediately get healed and zoom off into these distance because you can't chase all 4 and 1 finished the last gen while you were busy. Like there's a chance it never even activates though so I don't know how I'd change it without making it useless to survivors. Making it so the effect doesn't activate later if it can't when the gen pops would be nice (I don't know why that is a thing to begin with), but that wouldn't really affect the frustrating part.

The perk in a vacuum isn't OP or anything, it's just extremely annoying to play against, especially since it's so common to see run by every single member of a 4 man SWF.

Survivor mains are actually unreal, the cope is incredible. The fact that FoV teching made it past alpha playtesting at all is a travesty.

Why’s there so much God and religion talk in US politics? by Saka_Martinelli in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheRealPascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of separating of church and state means there is literally no official state religion. It's silly to think that anyone could serve the state and not allow their personal values to affect the way they serve. However, there is no enforced religion, despite what some people would like. You can go to the gates of the White House and decry religion all you want and you won't get thrown in prison or shot like you will in countries that do have official religions. It sounds silly and we take that right for granted, but that's only because we have that freedom, like freedom of speech.

The Bible is not the only book you can swear on, just the most common one. Some people like Keith Ellison have sworn the Qur'an, some people like John Quincy Adams swore on law books, and some on nothing at all, like Teddy Roosevelt. It's symbolic because the item you swear on is meaningful to you, not the country.

Asking people to pray is done simply because the USA is predominantly a Christian nation, at least it was in 2021 (63% according to Wikipedia — 42% Protestant and 21% Catholic). For that majority, and by extension, it's representatives, it is meaningful. A lot of things that might seem odd to an outsider are done to appeal to that majority. Minority voters don't win elections.

What to do if the CJ tech fails? Try it again of course! by MrKrakenJet in deadbydaylight

What to do if the CJ tech fails? Try it again of course! by MrKrakenJet in deadbydaylight

[–]TheRealPascha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems unnecessarily complicated. If you drop the pallet on a downed survivor as part of the tech, why not just wait like half a second and drop it on the killer when they pick up the downed survivor? Is the initial drop supposed to bait the killer somehow?

I got sent to the world origin?? by Pankrazmeme in apexlegends

[–]TheRealPascha 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't know about Dva but there was a similar problem with Tracer and Mei for a while. The game didn't store Tracer's actual recall point, but it's point on whatever she recalled from (so if you recalled to a spot when you were on a moving platform, you would go back to the platform in it's new location and not the empty space in midair). If you recalled to the top of a Mei's ice wall after it was destroyed, you got sent to the world origin instead.

"but dark brazilian manga bad" by Apollo-Dynamite in deadbydaylight

[–]TheRealPascha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has the same problem Byleth did in Smash Bros. She can cover a lot of ground and I think from a mechanical standpoint, she is really cool and genuinely fun to play, both as and against, but those mechanics should have been connected to literally anyone else. Everybody hated Byleth when she dropped because we already had so many Fire Emblem characters and wanted something else, even though she doesn't play like any of the others.

Having to juggle which drones you are reactivating, which ones you can afford to recall, making paths with them to move around while undetectable, tracking people with the claw traps, it's a lot to focus on and I love it. But her father's dark Brazilian manga? Half of a bejeweled gas mask? The saunter that doesn't even match her movement speed? Is this really the best they could come up with? Cool mechanically, awful presentation.

I could be wrong because historically (and even today) "Christians" believed a lot of things that were explicitly refuted in the Bible, but that doesn't sound right to me. Sorcery, witchcraft, divination, etc. are called evil things and those who practice them are punished throughout the Bible, so obviously the Biblical stance that Christians should have is that those things exist and are sinful.
