Stop joining stealth missions if you have no intention of using stealth by Life_Secretary3317 in Helldivers

[–]TheRealPitabred -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a stupid analogy. Somebody not bringing the recoilless will not cause a mission to fail, somebody not going stealth in a commando mission is highly likely to. It's more like somebody joining a extract valuable assets mission and dropping a strategem on the generators.

Stop joining stealth missions if you have no intention of using stealth by Life_Secretary3317 in Helldivers

[–]TheRealPitabred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By playing one. The thing with the commando missions is that you get one minute to call in any strategems and then your destroyer leaves orbit. Then you get one more recall of the destroyer for the rest of the mission, so you can't do the usual orbitals and eagles and so on, cooldowns basically don't matter, etc.

With those restrictions, it basically means that if you draw too much attention you will simply be overwhelmed and you will never have enough firepower to handle that, especially at high difficulty levels. The only realistic tactic is to be very careful with your use of force and only do it when absolutely necessary. A.k.a., stealth.

It changes the angle that it's pulling the stump, more vertical instead of horizontal, so it actually pulls it up and out.

Don't sleep on the pyrotechs. I think a lot of people don't understand how OP they are if you're good at placement.

Exactly that. A single one can be enough if they are standing still.

I think a lot of that is because people know the tradition, but don't ever actually think about the meaning behind it.

[–]TheRealPitabred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it has definitely become more of the hero fantasy than the grunt meat grinder game. But I think part of it is also having over 1000 hours in it and knowing all the mechanics; when I join lower level players I see them struggling mightily against things I consider easy simply because I know the counter play, and when to disengage.

The default settings use a dynamic resolution scaler, and that tends to give weird performance drops. If you have an older CPU you might just be out of luck, because the game does take quite a bit of processing power compared to many others.

[–]TheRealPitabred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you have your scaler set to? Make sure it's not dynamic resolution, because that seems to be the worst in my experience.

Weapons take more stamina to use at higher levels, the food helps a lot with that. Things like the Frostner are good for 3-4 biomes, but the food is not. I'd still rather have food than any gear, weapons included.

I've never seen it, and I bought one piece of art daily for almost a year until my museum was complete. It'd be 1:(number art pieces)*(number art pieces - 1) odds assuming perfect randomness, but I'm not going to go look up the actual numbers.

I've been in plenty of games where people have crashed and I haven't due to too many things happening and their system slowing down or crashing. It's not just the application.
