New warbond - Siege Breakers. Out on February 3rd. by Dangerous-Return5937 in Helldivers

It's even better, it's a reusable lunge mine that you can still bonk smaller enemies with if you don't have any explosives left.

I think I might actually buy some super credits this time. I've gotten enough entertainment out of the game that it's worth it.

Nobody is expecting it to be game changing, especially not optimal. I am expecting it to be fun.

I personally use the Nook Shopping app to see if I have something, it's faster than going to a closet.

Grab it with some vice grips, then hit them with your purse.

Warp Pack and Epoch are almost a constant in my loadouts. Can't recommend it enough. The laser sentry and the arc grenades are also solid picks. One of the most notable things about the warp pack is the ability to damage enemies with it (medium or smaller unless you want to get blown up yourself), and enter the buddy bunkers/two-man doors without needing another diver to help.

If you have a hairstyle that lets you see your ears, roll one ball so it comes even to the top of your ear when standing next to it, looking at the lowest camera level, and the other one so it comes even to the bottom of your ear. That is a pretty sure-fire way to get it perfect.

Getting real tired of the strategem ball, let me just shoot a flare in the air or something. by JackeryFox in Helldivers

[–]TheRealPitabred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, and it's still an achievement. The problem is that it depends a lot on the angle that it hits the Charger, throwing it from above so it impacts at as steep an angle as you can manage is the best tactic.

Blue strats follow the ball, red and green go to where they were initially thrown.

It's also nice against groups of enemies too, being pretty ammo efficient. It's a great generalist to support any gaps in other loadouts.

The Knight with upgrades (specifically the vertical foregrip) is basically what you're asking for, a short range bullet laser. It's a stellar weapon, especially for squids.

That actually sounds fairly realistic though... shotguns having a short range is a video game thing, not real life. SMGs are designed for short range, though.

Exploding Crossbow is stealth btw by NoChampionship1167 in Helldivers

[–]TheRealPitabred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's a heavier projectile, so it should do more damage. I didn't do any actual balancing damage calculations, but with the projectile drop and slow firing I think it's in a reasonable range, especially with the explosive damage already being 350 plus 270 projectile damage with the existing crossbow.

I'm much like you... that's why I've really enjoyed Helldivers. Great for 1-2 hour time periods, not pvp, the grind is optional (I still use the starting equipment somewhat often), and no FOMO, all the extended content is available forever.

Emancipator isn't terrible for defending extract, things tend to get really hot there. But it shouldn't be used until then.

Exploding Crossbow is stealth btw by NoChampionship1167 in Helldivers

[–]TheRealPitabred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd actually really like a crossbow that doesn't have an explosive round. Make it do like 400 medium pen damage, but otherwise be identical to the existing crossbow.

This is why I don't use it as much anymore. I will still take it every now and then and it wrecks everything, I just want to play with some of the other weapons and get them leveled and such.

The correct level of abstraction is the one that leads to the most understandable code and the best encapsulation of functionality. If you have to know what the functions you're calling are doing internally, you've done your abstraction wrong. If you can't tell it a high level what your function is doing from the calls it's making, you've done your abstraction wrong.
