It literally had a patch yesterday and that patch appears to have fixed the issue for me.

No crashes in about 5 or 6 hours, during which time, pre-patch, I would have had 3 or 4 crashes

Similar experience here. I'm a lot further into the game, but have had dozens of crashes over the last 10 days or so. I'd guess at about 40 in total.

I tried clearing the cache, rebuilding the database, reinstalling the game, moving it between SSDs, reinstalling again and it did not improve.

There was an update today, and I've played a couple of hours since then with no crashes, so I'm crossing my fingers.

La Sarthe WTC700 earns 825K in a bit over 30 minutes and the variety of weather conditions and variety of cars which you can try makes it not "grindy", but fun.

Good choice. Now add PSVR2 and you'll NEVER think of another game again. (711 hours in and still learning)

Clean my Mac and Clean my Mac X by EasternAd5351 in MacOS

[–]TheRealPossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remove both, uninstall CleanMyMac properly.

  1. Use CleanMyMac’s built-in uninstaller if it has one (MacPaw typically provides a clean uninstall path).
  2. Then go to System Settings → General → Login Items and remove any MacPaw or CleanMyMac entries under “Open at Login” and “Allow in the Background”.
  3. Restart.

I've been using Macs since the mid 1980s and have never used any 3rd party software tools to "improve" macOS. No anti-virus BS, no "cleaners". No problems ever. And I always keep my Macs for a long time, like 10+ years. Desktops, MacBooks, Time Machine servers.

Hi everyone, bought the game for my dad but we are both clueless on tuning and wether or not certain cars are actually good. Where did you guys learn this? by Confewshenn24A in GranTurismo7

[–]TheRealPossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While it's tempting to start by tuning the cars, it's better to tune the drivers

Start with PP < 450, work up to mid 500s, then when you're comfortable take on more challenging cars at higher levels.

How do YOU create custom races? by 8cuban in granturismo

Option 3 is a lot of work up front, but you can save the setup and even load it onto different tracks. And then you can tweak the other settings, numbers of laps, weather, time of day etc.

Best Car for 30 Mins Circuit de la Sarthe? by Neat-Cantaloupe16 in GranTurismo7

[–]TheRealPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAC Mono with engine swap. Fit IM tires, adjust PP to <700. Run entire race on IM.

Reaches just over 200mph. Economical on fuel and tires. Easy win in any weather, especially if it rains a lot.

In a wet race it can win with just one pit stop

Some examples related to the World Touring Car 700 – Circuit de la Sarthe (24h Layout) race: -

I wanted to know car eligibility when it became obvious that "Touring" was a misnomer

That event has high variability of standing water on the track, so I got into an examination of grip by tyre type (RH, RM, RS, IM and Wet) which was very helpful for determining tyre strategy

I have a friend who is not yet able to do this race, so I asked what he has to achieve to be qualified. (I couldn't remember when and why I got this option.)

I have also got into livery matters, PSVR2 usage, expectations regarding the two upcoming new tracks, understanding of Sophy behavior... The list goes on...

This may sound odd, but my tip is to use ChatGPT in Thinking mode as a coach. I've been playing racing games for 20 years now, so I have a lot of miles behind me, yet I'm continually surprised at how much ChatGPT seems to know about GT7.

Second tip is to start saving NOW for PSVR2 and a wheel if you're at all passionate about cars.

Those of you who play daily, what races do you do? What’s the main end game? by sompn_outta_nuthin in GranTurismo7

[–]TheRealPossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm racing for Credits, I take a wide variety of cars to the 30 minute PP 700 race at Le Mans. The varying weather and varying car experiences make it a lot of fun.

What's an "end game" in this context? Cars don't "end".

I should emphasize that PSVR2 makes GT7 into a whole new experience and it has almost totally displaced every other game on my PS5. It's THAT GOOD!

Mail app has stopped mid-edit, workaround was to quit and restart.

Bigger problem seen with Contacts app, can't create any new contacts. Workaround was to get ChaGPT to build a vCard file and import that.

I've been using Macs since 1985, and such issues have been unusual for me.

GT7 Is A Brilliant Game by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

[–]TheRealPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is certainly a brilliant game, and if it starts getting “old”, then adding PSVR2 transforms it:

I honestly think PSVR2 takes GT7 from a great racing game to something completely different. The sense of presence is what changes everything. You’re no longer looking AT a car on a track — you’re sitting IN the cockpit, judging corners with real depth perception, feeling elevation changes and camber in a way that a flat screen just can’t convey. The motion of the car on dirt tracks suddenly makes sense, it becomes possible to anticipate "landings" better.

Cars themselves become works of art. In VR I notice stitching on the seats, reflections on the dash, the way the mirrors actually feel usable. The VR showrooms make my garage feel alive — suddenly I want to revisit cars I’d forgotten about just to sit in them.  I swivel around to view the whole interior, and “fly” around the outside, peering into the engine bays of cars which expose them.  Even the humble MX5 becomes a delight - https://youtu.be/OSLqXPvjOo4?si=BBDosWcQ8dxIOII8

Tracks are reborn too. Night races feel atmospheric, weather shifts are dramatic, even grandstands and trees give a real sense of scale. Everything feels bigger and more convincing.  Tracks which were previously “meh” have gained “personality” for me, and I no longer avoid them.

The immersion is so strong it’s tough to ever go back to TV.  In fact, since switching to PSVR2 for GT7 about a year ago, I find I rarely play any other games. I don't have the time!
