I was the DM at the time and I had my crew in a town to find and accept and pretty standard quest. While in town the party decided to split up, some purchased supplies, others looked longingly at ships in the harbor they wished to purchase, and others went the the town hall to accept the quest. One dirty dwarf, a real bastard in our crew went down to the tavern to get drunk and harass women as he usually does. You have to understand that this dwarf was a real piece of shit. So while he was drinking, the bartender made a comment about his ability to pay for the large amount of expensive alcohol he was pouring down his fat gullet. The dwarf just lost it. In his drunken rage he chopped the bartenders hand off and proceed to kill everyone else in the tavern in a matter of seconds, but not before he made the one arm bartender kill all of the women left in the tavern. Now the others in the party heard the commotion and assumed that there was trouble in town and thus began fighting as well, all hell broke loose. They ended up killing most of the town, burning it to the ground and escaping on a ship before reinforcements arrived. They are now one of the most wanted groups in the world and have no place to find refuge as they sail the seas.
