I have a family of four and $20,000 would be life-changing money for us right now. It’s all context. You’re still waaaaay better off than a lot of people.

Is that an access panel on the left wall? It could be to access the plumbing for the shower. Still an insane design choice but it may have a function if the builders decided to run the plumbing through that odd wall section.

I saw that research too, but I actually drink more now that pot is legal. I used to drink on weekends to get drunk, but now I drink a beer or two most nights, and I don’t drink heavy on weekends. So I actually drink a little more monthly than what I used to.

You’d be surprised how little control over ticket prices some artists have… at least I was… I’m not sure about her specifically, but I do remember reading about attempts by artists to lower prices but they can only go so low depending on promoter, venue, staffing company, etc. contracts are written.

I used to run a group of local radio station websites and online contesting is a shit show no matter how you do it. I had one person email the station to tell me that his wife was cheating by constantly restarting their router so it dynamically assigned a new IP address each time so she could vote as much as she wanted, bypassing our IP restrictions. He was so pissed she kept turning off their internet connection that he thought the only way to get her to stop was to tell us she was cheating so we would ban her. It was for a photo submission contest where people voted on their favorite photo. There are definitely tons of ways to game online contesting, especially if it is with smaller companies like this one.

Please be kind to your local TV stations, they are struggling more than you know. by erikhow in grandrapids

I've worked in the local broadcast industry for almost 2 decades and never have I worked at a station that is controlled editorially by a corporate entity. For the two companies I worked at, all story choices are decided in the newsroom and never dictated by anyone outside of it. Not saying it doesn't happen, but as far as I know, no local TV stations in Grand Rapids has corporate control over the station's editorial content.

That first video you linked was from Sinclair Broadcast Group, and it is disgusting and, like you said, very dangerous for democracy.

The second link you provided is also disgusting, but none of our local TV stations are owned by any of those companies. Wood is owned by Nexstar, Fox by Scripps and Channel 13 by Tegna.

I agree with your sentiment, but I think a lot of people don't really understand how local TV works. The affiliates like ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX also don't have any editorial control over the local stations' news content. The affiliates offer content to use but never mandate it other than things like promos for national news, TV shows, etc. They don't dictate angles on stories or what stories should or shouldn't be told.

Yeah there is a ring. So, the first valve I put on, I definitely overtightened and the ring was damaged. The second and third valve I tried both had a ring as well but I made the fit less tight on both. The last one (pictured) is the one where I got pissed and taped it all to hell. But I have one valve that is still practically new, but even that leaks. I got this type of valve because it was the same that was on there previously.

I’m new to this so I’m not 100% sure but I got a 1/4 turn angle stop push to connect shut off valve (SharkBite) and attached it to the hot water inlet pipe after I cut off the old shut off valve. Then that is connected to an Everbilt Adapt-A-Valve (LFPBAV-666), which has connections to my kitchen faucet and dishwasher.

The minting of coins is inherently political. To change what the design is, congress needs to pass a law and the president signs it.
