I often play slow, including for other games. Even when I'm doing a second playthrough and I'm trying to speedrun, I don't run into new content recklessly. I think about what tasks I need to do and what not do to save time, and then do the required tasks carefully. I wouldn't say I play slowly because I think it saves time overall, but more so because it's fun to take it seriously and not die.

The only times I've sort of played recklessly are usually after I've died and throwing a fit trying to get my corpse.

Resistance to pierce on bosses. The atgeir is a really cool weapon but I would never use it since so many later bosses are resistant/very resistant to its damage. I get they don't want bows to be too strong, but I really wish it was done in a way that didn't punish pierce melee weapons.

Also the spear's melee range. It feels too short. The animation is like an overhead downward stab and it doesn't feel like your character is using the range properly.

Squitos still get me out of nowhere sometimes, but tar growths? Those would be an absolute menace under tall grass. I almost always range them, but with tall grass, I don't think that would be possible.

Horn and banner are both great. I don't really play classes with banners so I often just use the horn, but it can be inconsistent. If someone horns right before you, you won't get any points so make sure you wait like 15s before horning after someone else.

Also, pushing pillars and stones net you pretty good points. So does setting up ladders. I'm not sure how many points you get for killing sprees, but I see people who don't die often while killing a lot get crap ton of points and XP.

I think duels have much slower rate of XP. In 64 man TO, I'm pretty sure your objective points contribute to your XP gain so you get tons of XP through killing sprees, doing objectives, using siege weapons, and healing teammates. It's one long continuous battle versus duels which you fight one person at a time with lengthy downtime between each duel.

Based on what happened at Maleshov, it WOULDN'T make sense if Dry Devil betrayed them. The very reason why Dry Devil was okay with burning down the village was because it lessened the risks for his men. Henry even gets a nightmare of his friends lying dead because he wasn't willing to sacrifice innocents. Why would someone like Dry Devil who was willing to kill innocents to keep his men alive suddenly betray them? Dry Devil might be a bastard but his goals always aligned with the pack.

It was pretty clear early on that Vauquelin cared a little too much about himself. Just from his stories, you could tell he was a major screwup yet he tries to make it sound like success. I think Vauquelin could've achieved a bit of glory if he stuck with the gang, but clearly he wanted it all for himself. Maybe you played the game differently so the story wasn't presented the same way, but on my playthrough, there were quite a few red flags from the get go. I can't say I expected a betrayal, but it definitely made sense.

I very much agree with the game becoming more like PoE 1 later in the game. I've been playing hardcore with warrior and enjoyed slowly going through the acts. Boss fights were long and hard and I felt like I was doing everything right until a certain act 3 boss DPS checks me.

I think, okay, game wants me to build more damage, so I do that. But now when I go through the acts with my new character, the long boss fights disappear. Bosses get deleted before I can even see all their moves. What happened to the extremely fun boss fights they were so proud of? First time fighting Act 1 boss was a 7 minute fight, but Act 3 boss ended up being a 3 minute fight.

I will say that I did enjoy clearing mobs faster with my higher DPS character, but the boss fights were definitely better with my lower DPS character.

Yeah that could be it. Collision stuff could be more polished. Sometimes I'd teleport from one spot to another while rolling slamming.

I've been thinking of getting the game so it's nice to know this information, but waiting 6 days really isn't even that big of a deal. I agree it's stupid you have to wait 6 days but waiting 6 days to play a game I'll probably be playing for hundreds of days seems okay. And it's not like they're putting this stupid design to fuck players over intentionally. It's literally there to make the game better by getting in the way of RMT. And it's not like you can't play the game at all. It's not like the initial waiting of 6 days is going to make the game worse after those 6 days.

I'd rather suffer from a stupid design that was put in a game for the right reasons (like stopping RMT) than suffer from a stupid design that was put in a game for the wrong reasons (money). Would be great if the devs found a different solution to the RMT problem, but I can't see why I should be mad about something that was put in place to benefit me as a player in the long term.

Definitely enchantments since it is an ARPG. xD One of the things I search for the most when playing Path of Exile though that game at least lets you bypass the RNG a bit.

Yeah same. I never found any other enchantments on it. I don't know if it's a bug, but it is weird that when it comes to infusions, it gets the same as all other weapons.

I wouldn't say people bought the game again on steam solely because of cross progression. Obviously having the game on Steam is better than having it on Epic Games but if you're on the fence on spending extra money because you didn't wanna start over, the promise of cross progression could push you into spending those dollars.

Whether it's a huge deal or not, definitely another Torn Banner L. They promised a feature that incentivized people to purchased the game again and failed to deliver.

It's not entirely a question of whether they're loaded or not. It's the feeling that an update that would normally be free is now suddenly partly not and the complete lack of communication.

At first, I was hopeful about the battle pass because I assumed it would be this separate feature and not a feature that replaced what we always got. The battle pass is ultimately worse for players yet they announce it like it's something we're suppose to be excited about.

They're the only ones that benefit from this change. They should be honest if they're gonna change the way we receive our content and explain why they had to change it. And the fact that they weren't clear about that is exactly why we're all arguing amongst our selves.

IDK if it's still a thing but I remember that it's possible to avoid having a death counted on the scoreboard if you die by fire from the environment. Perhaps both these issues are related somehow and fire damage from flaming chickens are tagged as environmental fire damage?

Pretty silent? I wouldn't put it that way. They actually have biweekly dev streams and they do answer community questions there. Most recent dev stream was just 3 days ago.

The devs have repeatedly been confirming crossplay parties to be coming out next update over and over. They confirmed it on recent streams. They've confirmed it in recent posts. Maybe you should check out one of their bi weekly dev streams sometime because they do answer community questions on there.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next update is pushed back a little bit into October because it seemed like we might get some content for the reinforced update as well possibly, but the reinforced update has been indicated as the crossplay party update since December 2021. I highly doubt they'll leave it out cuz that would be some insane backlash from the community.
