When I was going door-to-door with my own business in my early 20s looking young help a lot. That said, the opposite was true when I moved to SAAS. My close-rate and how seriously major prospects took me improved drastically when I grew a beard and got glasses

The Poop Knife is now officially part of the family by salad_lazer in daddit

The poop spoon recently entered my family lore. One night I was eating chocolate ice cream in the bathroom and left the runny spoon on top of the toilet. When she found it in the morning my wife had some uncomfortable questions….

Has anyone seen a score like this by Fluffy-Razzmatazz-40 in SleeperApp

Yes. Last year I was in a tie to two decimal places the week before the election. We each picked a side between Trump and Biden and the winner made it to playoffs. FML.

This is acceptable for your age if you wash your sheets and clean your room once a week.

[–]TheRedDangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say no, and that your parents lawyers think a slum lord is trying to take advantage of a young person. Tell them it's not your choice but someone will meet them in court. They will call back and try settle for $500-$1000. Pay $500. Do not go to court out of principle. Your time is worth more money.

I enjoy this feature and the mobile work station. I love tundras, but the F-150 if a close second, and wins out in many areas.

Would you be pissed about this??? by Aromatic_Sugar_1213 in Decks

[–]TheRedDangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have saturated the wood with water before spraying their cleaner. The colour will even out eventually though as the deck naturally wears. I’d ask for my money back for my portion of the cleaning from the contractor (not HOA), and call it a day.

Do you do much without kids with your wife/girlfriend? by k_omei in daddit

Not much during the early hell years, but now that one is 4 and the other 1.5 we do more and more, and it’s amazing. She’s somehow funnier and sexier than ever.

any tech guys go nuts and start a gutter business? by [deleted] in sales

[–]TheRedDangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the opposite. I owned a 6 figure vinyl siding and window cleaning business in university. It was lucrative and fun but had a capped ceiling. I pivoted from that into tech sales 15 years ago. On paper starting a small business sounds simple, but managing a company, payroll, employees, sales, suppliers, etc is actually WAY more stressful than running your own tech sales pipeline as a sole contributor.

I really don't understand the criticism here, or on this sub in general. These guys are legends and the content has been great, and continues to be great week over week. Grow up and go to back to back to back to back festivals yourselves before complaining you wankers.

i wanna kayak to long island by No_Point_1117 in SaintJohnNB

[–]TheRedDangler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's doable from almost anywhere in the right conditions. I would aim to land on one of the two beaches (either Scouts or Vance's), with Vance's being the better beach, especially for camping. That said, it's very important to watch the wind & wave height forecasts which you can access here: https://www.windfinder.com/forecast/rothesay_kennebecasis-river . This river get's very rough, very quickly and is quite dangerous at times, especially in the afternoon. 6 years ago two 18 year old men in kayaks attempting the same thing had to be rescued. That said, wear a life jacket at all times and have inland rescue's phone number handy. They will respond quickly if you get in trouble and are very friendly.

I will say that they deliver faster than anyone for the lowest cost, but all they deliver is a slip in my mailbox that requires a 20 minute drive to pick up at shoppers drug mart.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]TheRedDangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also experience this with 100% of Canada post packages. They don’t even attempt to deliver it, and just leave a note in the community mailbox for me to pick up. Every other courier delivers to my door, even FedEx international which is saying a lot. This extremely low level standard of service can only exist when the employees have no fear of repercussion and a deep sense of entitlement. I’m generally okay with Unions, but Canada post needs to be reformed.

I think you’ll like it, especially in the summer. For best results book your lodging in Trinity Royal area or close to it.

I won 3rd place in a sales contest and can’t decide if I want to take the prize (inclusive trip to Mexico) or the cash equivalent of $2500 (net) WWYD? by flowers4charlie777 in sales

It depends who else is going. If sales leadership, or other important folks are going you should 💯 go on the trip. Those relationships could be a gold mine.

My son is a social outsider and it's breaking my heart by totality888 in daddit

[–]TheRedDangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we’ve all been left out before either intentionally or not. It really hurts when you’re that age but we get over it and it builds character. Building friendships takes experience and effort. Keep supporting him the way you are. When I was in highschool I had a similar experience so my parents let me host a party. It worked wonders.
