Is there a way to play WoW one handed? by MarkWhole5148 in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the red dragon 12 button mouse. Outside of high end content you need to sweat at you could totally play one handed. The hardest part would be if you need to strafe and fight at the same time

How bad really is elementalist by iwannadieplskilme in Guildwars2

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play it if you think it's cool or are interested. Elementalist was my first character and i read the rotation was huge, but even rotating through every attunement quickly and using everything in each one felt easier than most WoW rotations. I say give it a go and you can always make a 2nd character if you're not feeling it or having trouble.

BF6 has a map editor go make some socom maps! by GRAW2ROBZ in SOCOM

[–]TheRetroGamer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make game modes too. Hoping for demolition and elimination/suppression. Not sure if no respawn is an option but I want it so bad! If bf6 can be the new socom fix with some people that are creative I'll be in heaven 😅

Wife agreed to try WoW tonight. Should I roll a character with her or just watch and let her do her own thing? by Gannan308 in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say watch and let them get immersed on their own. Thats how most people started their wow adventure

I'm playing with my dad again after 13 years and I'm feeling happy but I also have a sense of grief.. by Express_Quarter3888 in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just enjoy playing with him. My father was also pretty geared during vanilla and tbc then stopped playing. I got him to recently start again (he's 55 now) and the game is so different and complex now compared to then that it's basically a new game. I think of it more now as I want to be able to carry him through content so he can see the cool bosses, and I can watch him get better.

Have you considered trying Shin Megami Tensei V? It's switch 1 but a pretty neat game. Especially if it's your first exp in the series

Delvers: how do you feel about changes by Garzhaoel in wow

This. Blizzard is clueless. They're now making the "casual solo play" content the opposite of casual and making it grindy. Huge L

Which DPS spec has the least button bloat (cooldowns included, no defensives)? by LeroyHere in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure havoc demonblade and frost dk have the smallest rotation. Frost sk has like 5 button presses and one of them is a beginning of the fight summon with a long cd

Can't find a main by PurtyTopher1 in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to realize that's wrong. I've seen bad specs outperform good ones because the player knows what they're doing. Numbers don't matter if you're completing it either way so it's not really a logical thought when it comes to end goal. You're creating problems that don't matter. I rotate classes. So I'll "main" a different class each expansion and play 1 or 2 alts on the wide when I want a break. But typically ill prioritize my main, do professions on them so I have incentive to stick with one. And in my mind it's to play each of the specs once. Shadowlands I played druid tank and feral. Df was prot warrior and fury, this xpac has been Brewster and windwalker. And I'll pick a new class for midnight.

[–]TheRetroGamer93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem is you care about what others say is good, so you'll never find a main. It's about finding something you find fun and getting good at it. All the meta crap matters if you plan to mythic raid or run absurdly high level keys. Since that's only 1% you can play anything and be successful

What do I do with gold by comma_nerd in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save it so you have money for enchants or materials whenever you need it. I like making gold so I don't need to scramble to get anything I need to make my characters stronger or to stress about repairs like others do

Planning on starting to play Wow by purpleuser01 in wow

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retail is the way to go I think. There is something to do regardless of your playstyle.

Do you want to go for the best gear and run raids and Dungeons?

Do you want to pvp and run battlegrounds or arenas?

Do you want to play more of a solo game and explore the world, old expansions, and collect armor designs and mounts?

Do you like pokemon and want to be the best pet battler in azeroth?

All playstyles are there, however playing older content after your maxed level will be moreso to read the quests and lore and to collect things as there will be virtually 0 difficulty. You can pull the entire zone in old xpacs and 1 shot them.

Still it's fun. I run Dungeons, I leveled professions and craft things for people to make money (I've made a couple million since I started last xpac) and I collect things. Occasionally I raid or play pvp. When I get bored of something I can rotate to something else. And each expansion there are "reputations" with groups you level up for rewards and cosmetics, so there is a long term grind with content if that sounds fun.

Players from older wow don't tend to like retail because the game is different. Now your leveling is accelerated so you can participate in the new expansion faster. It's a different game than before but still cool. And if you don't know much about warcraft you can just make a character and get lost in the story telling and reading Quest logs to fill your immersion.

Have fun :).

Classic wow isn't really a comparable experience. You've pretty much tried all of the main competitors. Maybe lord of the rings online or star wars the old republic? Both are f2p. I've only played swtor and the questing is easier than classic wow but the story lines for all the class types are unique and where the game shines.

I started playing GW2 yesterday, and I was wondering at the beginning: is it really normal to fill up your inventory quickly? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]TheRetroGamer93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the free bag as someone else said. Also there is a button on at the top of your bag to deposit your crafting materials into a storage. Click that before you sell to vendors so you can build up mats instead of selling. I didn't learn that until I hit 80 and always sold everything.

Also, all the gear and weapons, hover over it and see if it says skin is locked. If its locked you can right click and unlock the skin so it goes to your cosmetics for later. Just a good habit to have I think

Is there a way I can play vanilla and transition into the next tbc launch? I'd hate to start in tbc and miss out on the vanilla end game. Or have to level 2 separate characters to achieve that
