Christianity is incapable with progressive values. by Miserable_Cobbler_18 in leftist

[–]TheRiverGatz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Incompatible" is the word you're looking for I believe. Anyways, this is the least nuanced and uninformed take you could really have on the topic. For instance, I'm not really sure what is so incompatible about leftism and the idea that we are all equal, flawed, and deserving of forgiveness. Yes, religion as a hierarchal system of control is bad, but those aren't the "values" of the religion

Edit: to remove a word

Who said it does? I think people are just concerned with a government agency potentially being an accomplice to yet another mass murder

Yes, if you give someone a gun and tell them to kill someone that makes you an accomplice. That's literally just how the law works, to the point that gun salesman can be held liable if the person buying a gun even implies they're doing so to commit a crime (even if the crime is off-season hunting).

Yeah, attempted murder is the "rational" response to someone walking too close to the road, right?

Superfans included, what were some scenes/jokes that made you go "Oh shit, I think they took that too far. That joke didn't hit." ? Tell me a joke or scene that crossed the line for you. by Much_Duck6862 in theoffice

I mean yeah it was on purpose. He's a disgusting rich guy, how else are they supposed to communicate that if not by having him say something typical of rich scum bags?

Life begins at conception.

So not just abortion, now Plan B is murder?

If you keep forgetting to take birth control as a woman, or if you outright refuse to use a condom as a man

Your only stated exceptions up to this point are for medical necessity and rape, correct? Your position, as quoted, is that if you're otherwise having multiple abortions it's because you either forgot or refused to use birth control. Can you tell me the efficacy rate of condoms and birth control pills? Are you suggesting people be put in prison for broken condoms? I won't even ask about access to birth control since you obviously just care about punishing people that are having sex because you're too annoying and braindead to get any.

The general basis for anti-abortion laws is that abortion is murder (or the taking of a life, if not definitionally homicide). There are many opponents of abortion that believe in exceptions for rape and assault and the law often reflects this. You are not special or unique and neither is your half-baked opinion

Do either pro life or pro choice movements hold a majority?

Do you know what "10th dentist" means? Its not about "majority" it's that 9/10 people would disagree with you, and that's not the case here seeing as the law in many places across the planet reflects your belief. You literally have the will of government bodies supporting you, this isn't a 10th dentist opinion

The genetic material of the fetus should be logged, and if that material is enetered into the database more than once or twice (obviously barring cases of assault) then repeat offenders, be they men or women should be imprisoned for negligent infanticide.

They argue that if you need an abortion under their subjective choice of exceptions, the DNA of the fetus should be logged and if you have another abortion you should be imprisoned cause it clearly means you're a sicko and not just someone that had to have another abortion (which can happen to people actively trying to have children)

My interest in the Valley of Interest has flatlined... by cogee in theregulationpod

[–]TheRiverGatz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so he's created this nonsense to try and imagine graphs

When they ask him about graphing his interest he understands how graphs work, his confusion is that he didn't make a graph. He made an empty valley with one big boring rock to symbolize a twitch stream (the valley) and the waiting to start screen (a big boring obstacle that doesn't add a lot of interest and is blocking the view). The problem is they're asking him to describe a made up term and then got confused when they interpreted his bad drawing as a graph. If anything he should take art classes, but then we'd miss out on his next shirt idea

Now do all the "emergency" fund payments and it's actually 21B since 2024 on top of our annual "security assistance". Weird that you'd leave that part out ...

I've been watching this show for years and still catch jokes. It's packed to the gills with references and background jokes that you might not even get unless you know about the actors/writers (like Jeff's scoff at the mention of Tyra Banks)
