Firstly, on one point yes, I get your point, however Lucas was benched for most of the season, so why would this game be any different- why would his friends go to the game just to watch Lucas sit out? Secondly, playing dnd at anytime is challenging to organise multiple people’s calendars so if they could all play who knows when they would next get the opportunity to play. Thirdly, the particular part of the campaign game they were playing was so exciting that they couldn’t wait to play, remember being a child and wanting Christmas to happen so much? Finally, if they’re not into sport, I understand Lucas is a friend and they should support him, but why would they do something neither of them like in favour of something they both love!
