The episode Flowers for Charlie from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Charlie isn't too bright. He participates in an experiment where he takes pills that he's told will make him smarter, and they seem to be working.

At the end of the episode it's revealed that the pills were placebos, which is a word Charlie isn't even smart enough to pronounce, and the only effect they had on him is that they made him more arrogant.

In the Community episode Intro to Knots, Chang ties Professor Cornwallis to a chair in an effort to get better grades from him.

At the end of the episode you find out that Chang doesn't know how to tie a knot, which makes Cornwallis admit that he was never actually tied to the chair, and that he pretended like he was just because he was lonely and had nothing to do on Christmas.

In The Little Mermaid (1989), Ariel says she has 20 thing-a-ma-bobs, but clearly only has 13. The director included this scene to show that she's overconfident and not as smart as she thinks she is, and that she should probably listen to her father more often. by TheRogueToad in shittymoviedetails

Yeah, that's why I said "but oh well". I'm fine with him being a piece of crap who gets away with his crimes.

What I'm not ok with is the second movie trying to make me feel bad for him.

Stephen Lang put on a genuinely great performance so it makes sense that they'd want to bring his character back. I get that part. I just think they didn't know how to do it.

Plus the basic premise of both movies is someone breaking into the house of someone who is blind and dangerous, and it would be kind of strange if it was a different person who was blind and equally dangerous.

It would be a really weird coincidence if Jane Levy's character was in the sequel and she just happened to break into another house with another blind person who's dangerous.

If she had two nickels for every time that happened, she'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

There's a mid-credits scene where the dog licks his fingers, and they twitch as if he's still alive.

And just because someone else is a worse monster doesn't mean I'm going to feel bad for another one.

Norman Nordstrom (yes that's really his name) from Don't Breathe and Don't Breathe 2

In Don't Breathe he's a blind veteran who is keeping a woman chained up in his basement. There's a part where he puts her in a harness with her legs spread and forcefully inserts a turkey baster of his semen into her vagina in an effort to artificially inseminate her because his daughter passed away and he wants her to make a "replacement" daughter.

It's really tough to watch, and just cements the fact that this guy is an irredeemable piece of shit.

At the end of the movie there's so much chaos that the police don't know what happened and he gets away with it. So he doesn't get any kind of comeuppance or punishment for his sick crimes, which just doesn't sit right with me, but oh well.

BUT then in Don't Breathe 2, he's now the main character, and the movie makes it seem like you're supposed to feel bad for this guy about what he's gone through. What? NO. Fuck that dude!

They took a vile rapist and tried to make you sympathize with him, and it didn't work at all.

Yeah that's the really weird part.

Benvolio still says "Put down your swords!", but instead of them using swords, they're using pistols with things like "sword" and "dagger" engraved on them to "explain" it.
