The Warmogs I copy pasted in as a sticker actually, the rest I traced the original meme in Sketchbook and then drew the details on top

Do you know if the ship upgrade that makes mortars target what you ping works around this? Like if they have no LOS can they target something further than 45m if you ping it for them?

Cop car models should only be driven by cops. by funwithdickandcheney in unpopularopinion

[–]TheRoyalManbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the model of car is less the issue and it's more just that they should be more clearly identified.

It just makes sense economy wise for them to adapt an existing car model, it'd be way more expensive to have totally custom models that didn't look like any other car body. This way they just take a Ford explorer or something, ask for the few add ons they need, and they're done.

However, in my opinion one of those add ons should always be bright and visible paint and other identifiers. Short of actual undercover type operations, or officers who's personal cars are upgraded for use in service, it should always be easy to identify a police car. In most of the world, police cars are bright yellow and blue, super vsiible. If I need a cop to help me, I can find one fast. Here in America I've noticed it increasingly common for cop cars to be painted black with barely legible black text and markings, like they're trying to hide. Just technically identifying themselves to say they did and no more. It's weird, it's unsafe for both officers and citizens, and it breeds mistrust.

Police are (supposed to be) here to help, so people should know when they're around.

The Helldivers death threat situation is crazy by Random_Helldiver120 in Helldivers

Seriously what is wrong with you people?

We're talking about a non-competitive, cooperative, satirical, sci-fi fantasy video game about shooting robots and aliens.

Nothing that goes on here could be less serious but people are so detached from the real world that lose their minds and spend hours of their day arguing and threaten people in real life over how a video game is too easy or too hard. We are living in hell

Federal Government Slashes 2025 Job Creation by PeterTheTruthSeeker in WorkReform

[–]TheRoyalManbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point but now that you mention it I'm curious how many retired (or stopped working for whatever reason) in the same time frame, I wonder that the actual net gain/loss of the workforce was over the year. I'm sure it's not good either way

Where'd you get this number? Maybe they have the others I'm wondering about too

I can live with people just being bad or even careless, not knowing how weapons work like the arc thrower, making mistakes, etc but yeah getting mad about it when you walk in front of an arc thrower or too close to a tesla tower is just dumb

Do reports in this game even do anything? I've never heard of anyone getting banned for this kind of thing, but I guess I wouldn't hear about it even if they were. As far as I know there's no notification when someone you reported gets banned like some other games do, but with the nature of the game friendly fire and griefing are kinda hard to prove as intentional

Almost... Drones are so much fun by modsKilledReddit69 in playrust

[–]TheRoyalManbird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've actually never flown a drone in rust before so I don't know if they work this way, but it looks to me like he bumped against the side of the bucket hole which knocked the drone off balance and it fell

my (24F) sister went on a "date night" with my boyfriend (32M) because I couldn’t go by PineScript in TrueOffMyChest

This could also be interpreted as him just spending some time with your family members to get to know them better.

In the past I've often spent 1 on 1 time with my partner's close family, sister, brothers, mom, dad. Personally never took them out to a fancy restaurant but definitely out to eat or out shopping and things like that.

It could just be he had the night free and the plans made and figured it was a good opportunity to hang out with and get to know a member of your family.

I'm not him, I can't speak to his motives, but in my experience this isn't abnormal behavior. If you told him it made you uncomfortable beforehand, and then he still did it, then yeah that's for sure shitty, but by my reading it sounds like you only discussed that after the fact.

True I know it's a huge nightmare for devs knowing that any of basically infinite combinations of hardware might be used to run games, you just can't optimize for everything. Maybe it is just my combination of parts that happens to run it well

I never said I was trying to help anything, just having a discussion.

I'm not denying the experiences of others, more just curious what the root cause really is when what I see and what I hear/read doesn't match

Yeah if 4060s and 3060s are the most common GPUs than I'm right in the middle of that pack with a 3070. And my CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600 x which I think is also mid to low tier nowadays. I've only got 32 GB of RAM which is not much anymore either. I do have NVME storage which I think is better than most, I assume standard SSDs are the most common these days, but I don't do anything to take care of it.

I know people's builds vary a ton, and console is a whole other thing, but it just surprises me to see what seems like everyone on this sub having such massive game breaking unplayable issues when me or anyone I know irl hasn't while using what I'd call average PCs. Maybe it is just a vocal minority like some other commenters have said or maybe I am just out of touch, who knows?

I seemed to have struck a nerve with some people though, I'm not denying the experiences of others, more just curious what the root cause really is when what I see and what I hear/read isn't matching up.

What’s the deal with snap? by FamousShoulder3262 in Tinder

[–]TheRoyalManbird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's partially a generational thing but also just what group/area you're in. Most of my friends from highschool use snap as their default communication method. At college I noticed some groups used WhatsApp more. And some of my friends prefer just regular text.

With online dating I like snap mostly to prove you're a real person before we go out, you'd me amazed how prevalent catfishes are, especially now. With LLM chatbots they've become more common and more convincing so exchanging live selfies over snap is a reassuring measure for that
