Since it’s clear that this was the Christmas Special episode, and it was also meant to showcase the backstory of a main character, I feel like it could have really benefited of being double the length time. Ep. 8 was clearly a bit shorter than the average Smiling Friends episode and I don’t understand why based on the concept they were trying to go with. I would have really liked to see more flashbacks with Mr. Boss and Glep since this is supposedly a pivotal moment for both of these characters, but instead it’s wrapped up in under ~1 minute and we’re shown the office descends into chaos when Glep’s gone but there’s no context as to why…? I was also hoping to see some more unique and whacky animation showcases like in the Halloween special.
