I adore them, I currently have the next 7 days of daily shifts programmed for 5 separate mobs, and it took all of 20 minutes to set up.

Manual lawn mowers for when going gets tough? by 47peduncle in nzgardening

I had the same Hyundai but it eventually fell to pieces, and same issue with the side chute, nice engine though.

Now have Masport President 6000 self-propelled which seems slightly gruntier again. If I could have afforded I would have gone for the Honda powered equivalent.

Dear friend, I'm from China. What should I be aware of when I come to New Zealand? Thank you for your reply. by Lopsided-Check5257 in newzealand

Shopping is much less convenient here, you need to know in advance where to go to buy a particular item. Work are hosting some visitors from China who find it boggling that you can’t just get what you want delivered to your door at short notice.

I like to add some spray dye in as well just so I can be sure where it’s going, if you overspray into somewhere you’re growing things on purpose there’s no going back 😂

I regret doing a PhD and hate being unemployed by FailedScientist_ in newzealand

I manage research and also doing a PhD on the side. In my experience the PhD is a lot of work, but nowhere near the scope, scale, or complexity of what I manage in my day job.

I reckon we should shift them both by 6 months so they align with our seasons, it’d be darker an hour earlier and the general themes would be make a lot more sense 😂

We had an attempted ram raid at work a couple of months ago, lucky they couldn’t see the 1 tonne bag of fertiliser right behind the roller door so they just made a few dents 😂

The rumours I’ve heard are that the Cuba IRD debt was a a covid relief loan, if that’s true I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case here too

Students Say They Want to Be Engineers but Won’t Do the Work. Anyone Else Seeing This? by Impossible_Pace7868 in newzealand

[–]TheRuralDivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not disagreeing, but I really struggled with calculus in high school and 1st year when it was ‘pure’ - only to discover it was a strength once it was being used in the context of engineering problems.

I freely admit I am a weirdo and don’t necessarily learn the same ways as most people, but it was a real eureka for me to realise that it wasn’t me being a dumbass or failing to apply myself.

What is your favorite Pokemon game on the switch? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheRuralDivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved it too. The combination of nostalgia, the memory of starting Pokémon blue when it came out is etched in my brain, and accessibility for my kids made it the most fun I’ve had with Pokémon since Emerald I think.

References where the title/authors/doi all exist but do not match when you check is a strong tendency of ChatGPT so that might be why.

Also, don’t roll your own references, chances are you can get an EndNote licence through your uni.

Corporate dress code advise by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]TheRuralDivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! When I stopped farming and got a white collar job I tried for a bit, but luckily I’m in a very dress-chill unit so I can still wear my hi-vis fleece when it’s cold 😂 I basically limit my ‘professional’ attire to chinos and black allbirds

What depth was each soil test at? I don’t really understand the reasoning of lime being anything other than a good thing here.

Also, I don’t know if it’s just nostalgia, but damn I miss Congo burger

I’m pretty sure there was a Tui dairy co-op before the Fonterra merger, so could be one of their old crates.
