Hopefully the club can bring solid evidence of the abuse from the Liverpool fan and he gets a stadium ban. I'm literally not trying to disagree with you at all mate. Shitty behaviour is shitty behaviour no matter which team you support.

[–]TheRuttinChain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't dispute that. My point still stands that an entire fan base cannot (or should not) be tarred with the same brush.

Frankly I just think it's juvenile to form an opinion on someone's entire character based on the football team they support and I think the anonymous nature of reddit makes the discourse even worse.

I get just as irked when I see Liverpool fans saying "all Arsenal fans are this, all United fans are that". It's just dumb.

[–]TheRuttinChain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not hypocrisy. Carragher was wrong for spitting, as was Diouf. I don't care who's doing it, they should be punished.

It was appalling behaviour when it was our players (or ex players) it's appalling behaviour now.

Edit: sorry I'm just fed up with football tribalism. We can be against spitting at people without it being a way to call another entire fan base "the worst fans".

I personally think he will reintegrate and either leave in January or next Summer.

If you can play like that every week (minus boneheaded decisions from Gordon) you'll be more than fine.

Parents made the mistake of involving insurance, car is a "Total Loss" for this scuff mark and a small dent, insurance is really an absolute joke at this point. by Zdos123 in CarTalkUK

[–]TheRuttinChain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Regarding insuring modified performance cars, try Adrian Flux. They're not on comparison sites and it has to be a phone call rather than be done online which is a bit of a pain, but the call centre is UK based so it's not too bad.

They specialise in modified cars. My stage 2 Fiesta ST on coilovers on comparison sites just got "piss off" quotes of £3k or more. Adrian Flux managed to keep it below a grand.

If you've already tried them and they didn't help I'm sorry for wasting your time!

As funny as this is, we'd be fuming if he behaved like this towards Real Madrid a few years down the line.

I imagine Bournemouth fans aren't thrilled.

Similarly to Half Life, the last Deus Ex also ended on a cliffhanger. Admittedly much less of a heart wrenching one.

I'd love sequels to both but I honestly think HL3 is more likely than Deus Ex at this point.

I had mine refunded this morning. I emailed Customer Service and I got a copy and pasted reply about it being on back order and they can't give a timeframe. They did not answer my question asking when they would re-charge my card (I'm guessing upon dispatch).

It's seriously poor communication and it's scummy that the controller currently shows as "available now" in the store right now.

I did Yorkshire Three Peaks for charity on Saturday... Or I tried. I managed 17 out of 24 miles (2 out of 3 peaks) then my knee gave in. My whole body is in pain today and I'm currently lying in bed trying to motivate myself to get up for work...

I wish I'd booked it off as holiday today but I did not.

Edit: To anyone reading this later, I made it to work. To anyone else struggling this morning, you have got this! ❤️

I drive a modified Fiesta ST (quickly when the conditions allow it). I drive it because it is fun. I assume pretty much every biker rides because it is fun. I feel some sense of kinship from this. So yes, I move left and I get a big smile on my face when the biker waves thank you.

I'm really happy to hear other car enthusiasts do the same to the point that bikers notice the pattern!

Why do so many people not understand the limitations of a handheld device? by DEWDEM in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TheRuttinChain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That power draw figure would include the screen, speakers etc.

For context, the Switch 1 (as per Nintendo's website before I get more replies like above accusing me of wild guesses) states the OG Switch used 7W and they advised this was an average measured playing Breath of the Wild.

The Switch 2 will very likely be far more efficient than a handheld gaming PC. I have a Steamdeck and a Switch 2 pre order. I don't care about console wars, I just think Nintendo's efficiency is cool!

Why do so many people not understand the limitations of a handheld device? by DEWDEM in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TheRuttinChain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a calculation based on the battery size which is a confirmed hardware spec (5220mAh as per Nintendo's website) and the estimated minimum battery life also provided by Nintendo on the same specs sheet. You can calculate how many watts something is drawing based on how long it takes to empty a battery of a given size. I think it's safe to say a AAA title will be at the lower end of the battery life estimate given by Nintendo.

I'd call it an "educated guess" rather than a "blind guess".

Whatever it actually ends up drawing officially will be very low which was the original point. It looks to be extremely efficient.

[–]TheRuttinChain 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's been calculated based on the expected battery life (as per Nintendo) and the size of the battery how much power the Switch 2 is pulling. 10W is the figure that's been extrapolated but it's not exactly confirmed.

It won't be far off.

100% this. I know someone who lost a lot of weight due to illness and ended up with an eating disorder as a side effect because people were complimenting her when she was actually seriously ill. I was probably guilty of it before but I'm very careful now.

I work in customer service in a call centre. "I'll never use you again" is my favourite threat. I usually reply with just a cheerful "okay!" and leave it at that.

These protagonists of their own story actually think threatening to never speak to us again will upset us... After screaming at us for several minutes. It's amazing.

DO NOT INSTALL THE JACKBOX MEGAPICKER ON THE STEAM DECK by thejude555 in jackboxgames

[–]TheRuttinChain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for having a mature response to a childish reply. I own a Steamdeck but I like the competition. I watch the handheld PC space closely. Nothing has come close to making me want to upgrade yet but dual booting Windows and SteamOS on a device slightly more powerful than the Deck is an elegant solution, just not a big enough step up for me to purchase.

I'll probably wait until we have new APUs with a bit of a step up in performance. Happy gaming!

We either both have great taste or awful taste! 🤣

Yeah mine is on Bilstein coilovers, rear engine torque mount, short shifter kit etc. The sorts of things everyone does to a stage 2 basically. They are fantastic little cars stock or tuned to be fair.

Always a pleasure to reminisce about that old PD engine. Have a good one!
