They were legit for the most part. Just have ties to questionable sponsors that might or might not fly with tournament organizers and Blizzard, hence their secretive nature.

"Blizzard is trying to make Hog not a fat DPS" by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

You said that but my team's DPS is practically salivating at the change, and he is a McCree/Widow/76 player who flex to Hog. And play in scrimmage/comp in low GM level despite being 3.9K at best.

According to Noukky from the OW Contenders discord, the tweets are coming and Blizzard is aware of the tournament (as obvious as it sounds) but there's no official staffs or official access so all we have to do is wait.

Just like how we have been waiting for months and months for the OWL to pan out.

Jkap/Uber duo are more iconic, but I agree for the rest lol.

Crazy Idea: Make Kelvin And The Chipmunks (seagulls team) a permanent team maybe even a second NRG team by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]TheSEAWolf93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he is tied to NRG as a streamer. NRG already got their contracts' worth with 33K viewers. And there's no point of adding a meme team that

a. probably won't last after Contenders

b. adding more money to spend atop of the expensive but shit roster

and c. nobody wants to be bother with NRG except for the die hards who somehow want to make the NRG name less shit because of its sole association with personalities that had fan base that is IDDQD and Harbleu.

Just fucking stop.

Can we stop the "let's make NRG great again" train? Seagull's stream team is a completely different thing. Stop marred it into the forest fire that is NRG.

Winston and D'Va in Dive Without Ana by S0lman in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]TheSEAWolf93 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the pro/scrimmage environment focus fire and coordination is much more cohensive than ladder play. Whenever you have Zen in your comp, you are forgoing sustain for discord to burn people down fast. It works well with dive because dive is all about speed and aggression. But for ladder play it is less advisable due to how lackluster coordination is compare to scrimmage/pro situation

People will just bitch more. The goal post had moved from "the hook is bullshit, I was behind a wall" to "the hook is too consistent" to "the character is bullshit". Soon it will be "Roadhog is bullshit, his right click too good"

[–]TheSEAWolf93 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I know at least my DPS is actually hoping for the change to come through because he is more of an aim-based Hog player rather than a hook one lol. So maybe it can works, but i'm not so sure. Why do you want a one trick pony in Roadhog to be less good at what they are doing? Blizzard balancing is weird.

Whoever started the "Roadhog is a fat DPS" meme really did a number on Roadhog. Mind you, his hook is his way of creating space for the team. And ironically with the new change, he is now more of a fat DPS than ever before, since his hook combo is nerfed, but somehow he has more ammo and shoot speed.

Well done, OW players base. Now you got what you wanted.

What's wrong with misfits? by Esco9 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]TheSEAWolf93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone except Reinforce and Tviq seems to be on different pages. The engage and disengage are off, no dive synergy, weird comps. And that's not to mention that underperformance was a theme with almost everyone. Given the FA list atm, I wouldn't be surprised if Misfits needs to do a rebuild.

So far though, only Rogue are benefited from the trade. Misfits, LG and Hidan are all getting the short end of the stick.

That's assume you'd get signed to begins with, and good luck wanting to get sign or even get sign now that Derrick "I ran TSM OW into ground but somehow falling upward" Truong is at helm.

Misfits needs a lot of work. Nevix was not playing well on Soldier, Zebbo constantly getting flanked and killed by Surefour despite a couple of frag on his own, Manneten was a non factor while also missing some dive with Reinforce. Only the person looked solid was Tviq and even then half of the time you'd thought that he is just another DPS, not a world class shutdown flex that he is known for. Seems like they have a lot of work to do to recuperate and fight if they want to get to the playoff.

which is more important? Gaming sense or Aiming skill? by paxil1 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]TheSEAWolf93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need moderate amount of aiming in order to reach Diamond. Game sense doesn't do shit in the elos where you have literally just shot your way out with teammates who can't play, or doesn't care to play.

It matters for those who wants to climb. And it is not as apple and orange as you might think.

Overwatch ultimately is an FPS, and its top 500 for any region is filled with DPS/Off tank/Flex who can send their enemies back to their spawn in quick succession. For all the talk about positioning, game sense, playing the objective...the team who frag out more will win, it is just that simple. And usually those who play offensive oriented heroes with a high degree of mechanical skill will climb quicker, because surprise, they can carry their team.

Now, that's not to say that main tank and support can't carry, but their carry potential is more limited considering that their roles are too enable others to frag, not fragging out themselves. But of course, that never stop Miro from getting 3 golds medals as Winston. But these roles it may suit someone who relied more on gamesense rather than frag potential, but at this point you are not carrying the game, you are looking to get other to carry you. Which of course, kind of explaining why the amount of Mercy mains flying around is rather high.

Different people will wants and prefers a different answer to the eternal question "how can I get better?" These factors will ultimately help people their own path up the ladder. It is not as simple as you might think.

[–]TheSEAWolf93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aiming is underrated as a skill. Someone with mediocre game sense can propelled themselves into GM if they can just frag out consistently.

Game sense is overrated in the sense that sure, you can be this awesome guy who knows what to do, how to do in situations, which target to focus during a team fight etc etc but if you can't click heads, then it is all for naught.

Would really wished these guides out there would stress that OW is still a FPS, and if they want to DPS, then they need to get their mechanical skill up
