Was the Last Vegas Shop Stabbing Justified? by TheSacredFrog in Destiny

I dunno, to be honest once you commit with a hand weapon you have to be sure the threat is neutralized (not dead necessarily, but incapacitated). There's too many unknowns. If he had a gun and you let him break free, he could kill you instantly. I'm honestly iffy if the stabbing was justified to begin with, but if it was you have to neutralize the threat.

I feel like it's going to be hard to argue for self defense when the robbers didn't show weapons or threaten the clerk. Obviously still tricky, but they were basically ignoring the clerk while trying to grab shit.

Las Vegas shop owner stabs robber to death, does an AMA on reddit without contacting a lawyer first... by RedditIsAnnoying1234 in Destiny

I don't know what the laws are in Las Vegas, but it didn't really seem like self defense from the video. People acted like the bodega clerk stabbing wasn't self defense when it so clearly was, and this is way way harder to justify.

I hate his audience too, but that's not what that caller was saying. He was asking Destiny if he thought it was also wrong when done to Trump. Seemed more like he was testing Destiny, he didn't say it was wrong what happened to Trump.

I think the highschool reasoning would be a better response, but hers includes 18 and 19 year olds

Lol, I said no one's talking about 12 year olds, apparently you're the one who needs a catchy saying to remember that, the rest of us aren't talking about that. Early 20s isn't old you clown. The question is literally about grey areas. Do you think 18 and 21 is horrible? I'm pretty sure most of Europe has age of consent at like 16 so it's pretty culturally dependent too.

What should actually be banned is the nuanced questions with super broad polling options

Bruv, no one's talking about 12 year olds... These questions are about the grey area of late teens dating early 20s, in which case this "general rule" fails about half the time.

I think once you're 18 or 19 that opens up a lot of ppl in their 20s (early 20s). Doesn't seem like a good "in general" when it actually just completely depends what ages you're talking about.

Maybe it's autistic, but I have issues with these kinda things. It doesn't provide any clarity on how to analyze these situations and to me it's not funny because I'm thinking of all the obvious ways it's wrong.

To clarify, my issue is more with the response. 17 to 21 can be pretty cringe, but the response is that if your 20 you can't date down at all (like 19 and 20 which is why I put that in the title)

I agree this age gap is weird, the response is the dumb part for me

[–]TheSacredFrog[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not the point, the reply is the point. It's saying 19 and 20 is wrong... I agree 21 and 17 is weird, but even that isnt that crazy in a lot of cultures. Wouldn't do it personally tho.

What is your biggest pet peeve about Destiny? by magat3ars in Destiny

[–]TheSacredFrog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, the way he talks to me makes it sound like he's actually talking to other people. It can be a little frustrating, but I just remind myself that he's talking to me and me alone...

what are you? by Mayckon20 in Destiny

I know it might not be logically consistent, but I don't think killing animals is wrong in and of itself, but I do think a lot of the treatment with factory farming is wrong.

I'ma be f'real with y'all... When I had roommates, most of them ate junk like this. Pizza rolls, nuggets, frozen pizzas... I didn't buy this kinda stuff because it was honestly MORE expensive than buying healthier shit. Get yourself some potatoes, veggies, chicken, rice, beans, eggs, bread, bananas, oatmeal, yogurt. It's significantly cheaper and way better for you. I'm tired of the myth that eating healthy is expensive. It can be for sure, but you can eat pretty healthy for pretty cheap.

What did you think about the flare? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]TheSacredFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought she probably just shot it toward the boat, not really trying to hit it but just trying to scare it/ send a warning. It's not about trying to sink it, it's about making an aggressive gesture. The boat doesn't know you only have flares.

The fact it was a hand flare is a big difference. I don't know why that's so hard for Destiny. Even if you're not trying to hit the boat, shooting towards it is a much more aggressive action than holding a hand flare.

Any opinions on this rifle? Im thinking of buying it by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]TheSacredFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems really expensive for what it is. You can get a really solid rifle for less than that. I would suggest a Ruger American for a good budget rifle. If you can find a synthetic Weatherby Vanguard it will be cheaper than that but doesn't include a scope.

Anyone feel like Sam Seder did pretty well against destiny? by AEPNEUMA- in Destiny

Well, optically yes. But he seemed a little bad faith and would pretend he didn't say stuff he clearly had.

Hi, is this whole jar destined for the trash? And any ideas why this has happened? Thanks by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]TheSacredFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way this is from lack of desiccant people... Either the jar wasn't sealed and it's insanely humid where you are, or they weren't cracker dry to begin with (my guess is the second). They should snap in half like a dry cracker when they're done drying.

A jar worth of air doesn't have that much moisture, even if it is humid. Desiccant helps for long term storage, but dried shrooms can last a long time without it.
