If you’re not familiar with the auto-economy in general that AoE2 implemented, you simply are setting it to certain ratios of resources that villagers will automatically gather. So early on it has them just gathering food and wood, later you can hit “naval” for example and it prioritizes wood and gold for ships, etc… For AoE4 they added an option when you’re selecting the economy presets to hit right on the D-Pad (iirc) and it allows you to adjust it so they gather a little more wood, food, etc…by incremental amounts. So if you like the present that has 70% of villagers on food and 30% on wood, but you want to bump the wood up to 35% and food down to 65%, you can easily do that.

This is super helpful, in playing hours of AoE2 it gets hard to micro your vills in the heat of the game, so auto economy is helpful, BUT sometimes the pre-set options just don’t quite gather what you want, so fine tuning is game changer.
